Steeped in history, the cottage was once home to the estate blacksmith, and its wonderful old fireplace is a special reminder of its past. Where the blacksmith once worked, the space has now been transformed into a cosy nook the perfect spot to curl up with a good book, enjoy a morning coffee or simply relax after a day exploring the island.
Everything is conveniently arranged on one level, making Blacksmiths an easy and comfortable place to stay. The inviting lounge provides a lovely space to put your feet up, while the kitchen and dining area is perfect for preparing a relaxed breakfast or an evening meal.
The super king bedroom offers a wonderful night’s sleep, with a stylish en suite shower room adding an extra touch of comfort and privacy. Outside, the lovely bench at the front of the cottage is a delightful place to sit and watch the world go by perhaps with your four legged companion at your feet.
And then there’s Anglesey itself. With its spectacular coastline, sandy beaches, ancient landscapes and quiet country lanes, there is something to discover around every corner. Take a stroll along the beautiful shores of the Menai Strait, explore the woodland and gardens surrounding Plas Newydd, or head further afield to discover some of the island’s many beaches and coastal walks.
For keen walkers, the Anglesey Coastal Path offers breathtaking views, while nature lovers can look out for seabirds, seals and other wildlife. History enthusiasts can explore ancient burial chambers, standing stones, churches and castles, while food lovers can enjoy wonderful local produce in the island’s cafés, pubs and restaurants.
For a gentler day, simply pack a picnic, find a quiet beach and watch the tide roll in. Or return to Blacksmiths after a day out, light the atmosphere with a cosy evening in the historic fireplace nook and enjoy the simple pleasure of having nowhere else to be.
Whether you’re seeking adventure, fresh air, history, great food or simply a peaceful place to reconnect with yourself, Blacksmiths makes a wonderfully cosy base for discovering Anglesey with the added bonus of being able to bring your best four legged friend along too.
