Howarth Cottage is a beautiful comfortable cottage well positioned for visiting other parts of the Lake District as well. Lots of local walks and a well stocked Spar shop just around the corner. Very dog friendly. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. would definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely time staying at Howarth Cottage. It is very well equipped and there were lots of things to entertain the children, such as board games, colouring pencils, books, DVD's etc. When we got there the fuse had gone for one of the extension leads that had the TV etc on. Within 10 minutes of us phoning someone had come out and fixed it so very impressed. Our only complaint is that one of the kitchen cupboards smelt a bit damp/foisty. We would definitely recommend staying here though.

Nice cottage had everything we needed, could do with a bit of a makeover as it was a bit dated but in a good location close to Ambleside & Windermere, having a Shop & cash machine down the road was ideal, The Sun Inn pub has a loverly beer garden ?

Good points! 1.cottage is immaculate 2. Good location as close to Windermere 3. Everything you need is at cottage including equipment 4. Overall fair value for money Bad points! 1. Picture shows cottage to look like a detached but it's a mid terrace. 2. Garden is just tiny patch of grass with no fence so no privacy what do ever. 3. You have to leave at 10am and cleaners are literally watching you load car. 4. Nothing except a garage in walking distance so you need car or willing to catch bus 5. You can't enter till 3pm but it's empty from 11pm after an hour clean. We thought this was a little spiteful Overall we enjoyed the whole stay. Lake district is beautiful ;)))

Lovely Cottage with a great location would come again, just a few areas that could have been cleaner ( under the kitchen cupboards, and the back of doors)

Nice and cosy, has everything you need, 5 mins by car to Windermere and 10 mins for Ambleside. Quiet area but has a pub nearby and a well stocked grocery store in the garage. All in all a nice place to stay to explore the lakes.

Another lovely week spent at Howarth Cottage. Walking everyday, weather fine and cold and good pubs at the end of the walk, what more can you ask for. We have been many times to Howarth Cottage, it’s warm and cosy and is lovely to return to after a long walk. We took our new puppy with us this time and she loved the field at the back of the cottage for early morning walks. We had a busy week, a couple of days walking straight from the cottage and also visited Coniston, Grasmere, Langdales, Elterwater to name a few. The porch is handy for outdoor coats and boots and dog towels etc. The kitchen is well equipped, the shower is nice and hot and the new mattress in the main bedroom is really comfy. We had a lovely relaxing time and Rosie our cockerpoo loved it too.

It’s too small cottage. And all the bed is terrible. Old and it’s very noisy. No one sleeping.
