This spacious semi-detached cottage is situated on the edge of the hamlet of Beck Hole, close to the village of Goathland, and is blessed with fabulous views. The refurbished interior has been completed with a modern way of life in mind yet in a beautiful 1800s building. The open plan living space has all modern conveniences including speakers throughout which are set into the ceiling, a 65’’ 4K TV and wonderful bi-folding doors which open out onto a fabulous patio area with seating for eight, complete with fantastic views of the moorland behind and the steam railway in the valley beyond. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with a stunning en-suite master and family bathroom, including heated mirrors to prevent steaming and a contemporary rain shower and bath. The summerhouse is a self-contained unit of its own and can be used either as a double bedroom or a summerhouse, again with spectacular views from the bi-folding doors onto a large decking area.
Ivy Cottage is situated in Beck Hole, one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets, and just outside the village of Goathland. This stunning cottage is just a short walk from one of the smallest pubs in the UK, known for its traditional ales and warm friendly welcome. Stunning valleys and sweeping hillside views can be enjoyed from the idyllic location. Cycle tracks, bridle paths and walkways abound from the doorstep with quaint little villages popping up when you least expect it.
Nearby Whitby is increasingly popular with holiday makers all year round as it has something to offer all the family, including 3 miles of golden beach, donkey rides and ice creams. Other things to do include rock pooling, climbing the 199 steps to the Gothic Whitby Abbey, which was made famous by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, or taking a stroll along the cobbled streets and taking in some of the older parts of town with its Jet Stone boutiques. Whitby has an up and coming foody scene too, with everything from Michelin star restaurants to award-winning fish and chips, tea rooms and family friendly pubs and bars, many offering live entertainment. There is also the golf course and many boats offering tourist trips out to sea in search of seals, dolphins and even whales in the right season.
The Yorkshire Heritage Coast is dotted with hidden gems such as Staithes and Runswick Bay to the north, and Robin Hood’s Bay to the south. Robin Hood’s Bay can be reached along the Cinder Track walk and cycle way, and the Cleveland Way also makes its way along the tops of cliffs and into the some of the bays, offering superb photo opportunities along its path. Take a steam train ride from Whitby right into Heartbeat Country and Goathland. The North York Moors National Park is right on your doorstep, with its 100s of walking routes which take in the Falling Foss Waterfall and The Moors National Park Centre. There are pushchair and wheelchair friendly woodland and riverside trails around the grounds. The traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its two long sandy bays, whilst the medieval walled town of York is also within driving distance. Beach 9 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub ¼ mile.

We had an incredible week at this beautiful cottage, which has stunning views across the North Yorkshire Moors. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully appointed and is wonderful for a family break. The thing that really stands out is location, the area is remote but just absolutely beautiful and you can easily travel to both the gorgeous coastline or the fantastic city of York. Highly recommend

Such a beautiful place! Very modern inside , but in an 1800s cottage - So the best of both worlds. Waking up to that view every day really put a smile on our faces and we miss it already! We usually never stay anywhere twice as we love to travel and feel it's important to see as much of the world as possible but i bet we go back to beck hole and ivy cottage in the future. It suited our family perfectly as we could all watch tv together, all sit round the table together, or outside. Perfect size for a large family.

We had a great time at this lovely cottage. Very private with wonderful views, with the north York steam train running past in the valley below.

This was one of the most amazing cottages we have stayed in. We went away for s girly weekend, and the house was perfect. Every little thing was thought of, the house was decorated fantastically. We loved the steam train at the bottom of the garden and the gorgeous views. I cannot recommend this enough, whether this is for a girls weekend away or a family weekend together. Thank you. We are already planning our next family weekend away!

Fantastic cottage. Very comfortable with lots of little extras. Very well presented. Only thing was that we couldn’t get the tv to work in the annex. Lovely setting with great views. Walked to the quirky pub in the village for a drink. Would definitely go back.

Ivy cottage is quite remote, but this is what we wanted. The views were stunning and nice and peaceful. We went for my daughters 18th Birthday Celebrations for a long weekend. I've got to say the cottage is finished to a high standard and all the extra's from the teatowels, dishcloths, to the prosecco and milk in the fridge, were really appreciated and made you feel home from home. Everything is really well thought out, the decoration was spot on and a lovely warm and cosy cottage. The beds were comfy and warm. I would definatley recommend to friends and family. I can not think of anything negative to say about Ivy Cottage
