The refurbished interior has been completed with a modern way of life in mind yet in a beautiful 1800s building. The open plan living space has all modern conveniences including speakers throughout which are set into the ceiling a 65’’ 4K TV and wonderful bi-folding doors which open out onto a fabulous patio area with seating for eight complete with fantastic views of the moorland behind and the steam railway in the valley beyond. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with a stunning en-suite master and family bathroom including heated mirrors to prevent steaming and a contemporary rain shower and bath. The summerhouse is a self-contained unit of its own and can be used either as a double bedroom or a summerhouse again with spectacular views from the bi-folding doors onto a large decking area. There is also relaxed seating for 8 on the balcony in front of the summerhouse.\nIvy Cottage is situated in Beck Hole one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets and just outside the village of Goathland. This stunning cottage is just a short walk from one of the smallest pubs in the UK known for its traditional ales and warm friendly welcome. Stunning valleys and sweeping hillside views can be enjoyed from the idyllic location. Cycle tracks bridle paths and walkways abound from the doorstep with quaint little villages popping up when you least expect it.\nNearby Whitby is increasingly popular with holiday makers all year round as it has something to offer all the family including 3 miles of golden beach donkey rides and ice creams. Other things to do include rock pooling climbing the 199 steps to the Gothic Whitby Abbey which was made famous by Bram Stoker’s Dracula or taking a stroll along the cobbled streets and taking in some of the older parts of town with its Jet Stone boutiques. Whitby has an up and coming foody scene too with everything from Michelin star restaurants to award-winning fish and chips tea rooms and family friendly pubs and bars many offering live entertainment. There is also the golf course and many boats offering tourist trips out to sea in search of seals dolphins and even whales in the right season.\nThe Yorkshire Heritage Coast is dotted with hidden gems such as Staithes and Runswick Bay to the north and Robin Hood’s Bay to the south. Robin Hood’s Bay can be reached along the Cinder Track walk and cycle way and the Cleveland Way also makes its way along the tops of cliffs and into the some of the bays offering superb photo opportunities along its path. Take a steam train ride from Whitby right into Heartbeat Country and Goathland. The North York Moors National Park is right on your doorstep with its 100s of walking routes which take in the Falling Foss Waterfall and The Moors National Park Centre. There are pushchair and wheelchair friendly woodland and riverside trails around the grounds. The traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its two long sandy bays whilst the medieval walled town of York is also within driving distance. Beach 9 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles pub ¼ mile. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/105/840/10598284.jpg UKC3096

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. There were 6 adults a baby and 2 dogs and plenty of room and space for all.

Outstanding cottage with top quality fixtures and fittings. Perfect location for family/friends to enjoy the unspoilt and hidden countryside.

The holiday to Ivy cottage was an excellent weekend break to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our children. The fixtures are very high end and we wanted for nothing. Everything had been thought of and the welcome pack was a nice touch. The views are beautiful, if only the trees weren't as tall we may have caught a glimpse of the steam train as it passes at the bottom of the garden. I would highly recommend Ivy cottage and we will certainly be back. The only thing I would recommend is a sign on the main road as we drove past it twice and there is very little opportunity to turn around.

This truly is a home from home with everything that you truly need. Beck Hole is a delightful Hamlet that feels a million miles away from anywhere. The garden has beautiful views, and in September the sun sets so you can enjoy a glass of wine in the garden. The beds are just amazingly comfy - we have left another cottage early because the beds were horrid and not sleeping spoilt the holiday, but these were amazing and to be honest I could have spent longer in bed! The Rail Trail wall can be picked up by going through a farm about half a mile down the road and is a beautiful walk through fields of sheep. The utility is so useful as you can strip off all your gear before going into the house. The house feels brand new and clean and fresh. We never go back to a house twice but here, we truly could do - peace, quiet, beautiful & luxury surrounds whilst being in the middle of the country.

A very high standard for a holiday cottage, the summerhouse deck in particular is very unusual and a beautiful place to spend a sunny evening.

We had an incredible week at this beautiful cottage, which has stunning views across the North Yorkshire Moors. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully appointed and is wonderful for a family break. The thing that really stands out is location, the area is remote but just absolutely beautiful and you can easily travel to both the gorgeous coastline or the fantastic city of York. Highly recommend

Such a beautiful place! Very modern inside , but in an 1800s cottage - So the best of both worlds. Waking up to that view every day really put a smile on our faces and we miss it already! We usually never stay anywhere twice as we love to travel and feel it's important to see as much of the world as possible but i bet we go back to beck hole and ivy cottage in the future. It suited our family perfectly as we could all watch tv together, all sit round the table together, or outside. Perfect size for a large family.

We had a great time at this lovely cottage. Very private with wonderful views, with the north York steam train running past in the valley below.

This was one of the most amazing cottages we have stayed in. We went away for s girly weekend, and the house was perfect. Every little thing was thought of, the house was decorated fantastically. We loved the steam train at the bottom of the garden and the gorgeous views. I cannot recommend this enough, whether this is for a girls weekend away or a family weekend together. Thank you. We are already planning our next family weekend away!
