The ideal location for a seaside holiday, Kannier Cottage is a detached holiday cottage, in an elevated position, overlooking the quiet conservation village of St Monans and the Firth of Forth. From your doorstep you can explore this picturesque village with its harbour and charming 17th and 18th century red pantiled buildings, enjoy a coffee on the harbourside or freshly caught seafood from the award-winning restaurant.
There are lovely coastal walks on the Fife Coastal Path which takes you to award-winning sandy beaches, pretty coves and historic buildings along the way. For keen cyclists, the Millennium Cycle Way runs through central Fife, with miles of quiet country roads, disused railways and forest tracks to explore. Just a little further along the coast is the bustling tourist harbour town of Anstruther and there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving between April and September that take you to the Isle of May, which is a National Nature Reserve. It is home to colonies of sea birds including puffins and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies. St Andrews is just 10 miles away and is well worth a visit with historic buildings, Sea Life Centre, boutique shops, and a wide range of bars and restaurants. This area is famous for its golf, with more than 40 golf courses in Fife, from the famous fairways of St Andrews to several traditional links courses and beautifully landscaped parkland and heathland courses.
Having spent your day exploring the area you can relax in the first floor seating area and enjoy the views with a glass of wine. The enclosed garden is a suntrap on warm days and a great place for the children to play. If sea food is on your menu, you can purchase locally caught fish and the dining room is ideal for you all to enjoy that special meal and plan the next day’s activities. Beach 250 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

Cottage was ideal for our needs. Beautiful location, particularly looking out over the harbour from upstairs viewing window. Everything was as advertised. One item to note is that the kitchen kettle is leaking water. Excellent stay.

Very comfortable cottage and a great location for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. The large and safely enclosed rear garden was excellent for our dogs.

The cottage is in a great location, ideal for the coasatal path and close to Anstruther and St Andrews. On first inspection, everything looked good. A nice big kitchen with separate dining area and also a dining room. The lounge was a good size and the furniture comfy. The bedrooms looked fresh and clean as did the batheroom and shower room. Some areas looked fairly recently done. The garden is a great size and we were lucky with the weather so were able to take full advantage of the outside seating. However, the following points need to be made:Very dirty windows, inside and out (I know there was a bad srorm but they should have been cleaned as it did not look good for clients),cupboard door broken in upstairs bedroom, elecrtic shower in twin bedded room very innadequate, shower hose in bathroom very dirty, skirt left in wardrobe in front bedroom, springs coming through single bed downstaird, single bed against the radiator dangerous, especially if children are in there, widow sills and picture frames dusty, a large quantity of beer bottles left at the bins, two drawers stuck open in kitchen dining area a hazard. However, the location is so great that we would stay agin even though thar single bed(downstairs) was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Time to renew the mattress?

We stayed in Kannier Cottage for a week in August. Our group consisted of 5 yo twins, my husband and I, our dog and my Dad. The layout of the house suited us perfectly house with everyone having their own room, Dad having an en suite and the huge, enclosed garden being spot on for the dog and children. The seaview from the first floor lounge is stunning and the decor throughout is fresh and simple. Kitchen was fantastically stocked and there was a breakfast table and separate dining room! It was spacious, clean, well-equipped and superbly located literally 5 mins walk to the shingley beach. We had the most fantastic stay here - we didn’t want to come home! I loved Kannier and St Monans and can’t wait to return.
