We took our dog and we were relieved to find that the garden was very secure and spacious enough for us all to enjoy. Conversion sympathetically done, good use of space. Kitchen is small though but adequate if rather tired looking. Plenty of utensils but we found the cutlery, especially the knives not fit for purpose! Great location for local activities and attractions and well situated for others further afield. Proprietors are friendly and helpful but give you space and privacy to enjoy your holiday as you wish. It is located on a working farm so keep that in mind. There are barking dogs on occasion and obviously farm vehicles moving around but seems to be kept to a minimum, didn't spoil our holiday. On the whole a lovely relaxing place to stay with plenty to do if you so desire.

Fantastic location, a lovely cottage with excellent facilities. The local area is great and the village really welcoming. The cottage was well equipped (we like to cook when we are away) and we loved the hot tub. We just missed a couple of those personal touches we have had in other cottages on arrival - a pint of milk, a bottle of wine, some flowers, otherwise really good.

Excellent little cottage! Really enjoyed the hot tub, lots of places to go for a walk in the area and not far from a train station for travel into nearby towns and cities.

My husband, the dog and I booked this a while back for the October school break. This is the fourth time we've stayed here and it has never disappointed........until now. We arrived on the Monday and so did hurricane Ophelia! This didn't stop my husband from using the hot tub as this is the main reason we come here. The next day my husband went out to have a dip in the hot tub - however, there was something wrong with it and the temperature had plummeted. I called the owner and she advised she'd have it fixed and she suggested filling it with hot water from the hose - firstly, we were on holiday and secondly, we didn't come on holiday to fill a hot tub with a hose. We only got to use the hot tub for an hour or two before the temperature plummeted again. The owner advised on a few occasions she'd get it fixed - to no avail. In the end we came home a day early and felt very disappointed in our stay. We usually enjoy the cottage, however it has become very unloved and shows with the little things that have let this visit down, i.e. bulbs missing from living room spotlights, bulbs missing from the cooker hood and bulb missing from outside security light, also caulking around the hob in the kitchen was shoddy and loose trimming around flooring in the kitchen. I'm sorry to say, we won't be back

Little Arches is a great cosy cottage located not too far away from local amnesties and further afield. Hot tub is a great bonus. We loved it and our two dogs did too. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely return in the future.

The cottage is comfy and cosy with good facilities and comfortable beds. It's on a farm, so there are sheep and dogs about but it was nice to watch the farm work happening. On arrival, the cottage wasn't very clean. There was dust, crumbs on surfaces and clumps of dog hair on the rug. After i'd cleaned the place myself, I started to feel settled in. The hot tub was great and appeared well maintained and clean. There are great views from both the bedroom window and back garden. There's nothing close by but the village centre is about 5 mins away by car and has 2 convenience stores and a couple of take aways. The location of the cottage is good for exploring the surrounding area and a trip to Largs and the ferry to great cumbrae is definitely worth a go. Auchentoshan distillery is great and very reasonable and there are some beautiful drives and scenery within easy reach. The cottage, with a little tlc could be really lovely. Small details let the overall feel of the place down, such as broken wardrobe doors, ill fitting curtains, no welcome information and loose plinths in the kitchen. All in all, we had a lovely holiday and would probably return if we were to head to this area again

Overall Litle Arches is a nice place to stay if you want to be away of everything in a comfortable homely place with nice working Wi-Fi, nice hot-tub in a patio that looks great for the all family to relax, including the dogs, if the weather allows. You feel very cosy. Owners available when needed and around the area, near the loch or the nature reserve, a lot of walks where you can take dogs off the lead in a responsible way. Few little issues: 6 for cleanliness as some accumulation of dust here and there but nothing too serious, major issue for us was the excessive amount of accumulated grease in the filters of the cooking fume hood. Only 7 for comfort and equipment because the kitchen needs some new cooking pots and a dishwater would make all sense as we were cooking a lot and spent a lot of time washing dishes. And also a BBQ would complete the scenery. Considering you are on a farm by choice I can't give less than 7 for local amenities, there is a Spar in town, restaurants, takeaways. And interesting places to visit and go in a 20-30min drive around the place. Would return
