Little Impetts, a 17th-century thatched cottage, is a great place to visit from around the world and is set in the beautiful east Kent countryside. It was filmed in 2006 for ’Relocation Relocation’, with Phil and Kirsty, a copy of the programme is kept in the Little Impetts DVD library for you to view. Originally two cottages, it was converted to one in the late 20th century, then later converted into a totally self-contained, semi-detached holiday property. Within easy reach are many attractions and country walks straight from the front gate. Situated in a quiet lane leading to All Saints Church and onto open fields, which intercepts the well-known Saxon Shore Way walk and the River Stour. The parish starts at Plucks Gutter where the River Stour is crossed and continues through the settlements of East and West Stourmouth. The parish also boasts one of the oldest churches in Kent, that of All Saints. Although now redundant, it is maintained by the Church Conservation Trust and is open most days for visits. It also has a public house dating back to AD1372.
To help you find local walks and attractions, Little Impetts has a weatherproof detailed ordnance survey map of the area, which has proven to be very useful for guests. Fabulous hidden beaches are to be discovered along the coastline, such as Minnis Bay, Botany Bay, Viking Bay at Broadstairs, Ramsgate, and many more. Situated in a good position from which to explore the coastline to the north, the east, and the west.
There are many local attractions in this area, for animal lovers there is Wingham Wildlife Park, which is 10 minutes away by car. There is also Howletts Zoo in Bekesbourne, just 20 minutes by car journey, or if you fancy going further afield you have the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone, which is 40 minutes by car for that day trip to France! The world-famous city of Canterbury is only a 20-minute drive, here you can visit the stunning cathedral and explore all of the history and attractions on offer.
