Just 5 minutes’ walk from the pristine waters of the Firth of Lorne, it’s a natural adventure playground, surrounded by trees, open and magnificent sea views looking onto the Gulf of Corrievreckan and the Isle of Mull. Midway between Oban and Lochgilphead, with stunning views of the inner islands of the Firth of Lorne, there’s no road noise, just the sounds of the wind in the trees and birds singing.
You’ll love Catkin Lodge with its welcoming open plan living/dining room with adjoining well-equipped kitchen. A fantastic feature of this lodge is the electric sauna perfect for relaxing on the wild days when you want to cosy up indoors with the cosy wood burning stove blazing away. The living room has patio doors which lead onto a large deck with outdoor furniture where you can enjoy those spectacular views! The three bedrooms which enjoy lovely views, offer flexible bedroom arrangements to suit guests’ needs, offering a bedroom with a kingsize bed which can be separated to twin beds on request and two twin rooms, one of which can be made up to a kingsize on request. All are served by a large family bathroom which has a sauna, bath and separate shower cubicle plus an additional separate toilet. There is free parking for three cars, and it is a short distance to the beach below.Lunga Bay area is nearby, which has a pier, slipway and parking or mooring for small boats. You can roam freely across the wilderness of the Craignish Peninsula through a vast network of tracks and enjoy spotting wildlife along the coastline.
There’s also a riding centre close-by where instruction and trekking is available. You can easily walk from Teasel to Craobh Haven marina and village just 1½ miles away by single track road, with its grocery shop, a craft and coffee shop, a launderette, and a ships chandlery. You can visit Arduaine, just 3 miles away which has a hotel/bar and National Trust gardens. There’s a rough hill track to Ardfern (3 miles away) suitable for cycling or walking where there is a village shop, café, pub and hotel as well as sailing, canoeing, fresh water, sea fishing and boat excursions. Ardfern can also be reached by a 5 mile drive by road. The Ardfern road continues along the peninsula to within a mile of Craignish point, with views of the Corryvreckan whirlpool.
A 20 mile drive north takes you to the town of Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, also known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, with huge variety of cafes, shops, restaurants, golf course, cinema and leisure centre. 9 miles to the South is prehistoric Kilmartin Glen, and the county town of Lochgilphead, 20 miles south, which has a variety of specialist shops, cafes and restaurants, a swimming pool, golf course and sports centre.
