We had an absolutely excellent experience at Mashers Barn. A very simple ‘check in’, the property was very clean and the owners have thought of many small details to make you feel welcome. An endless supply of firewood kept the barn cosy and warm, the showers and baths are excellent and the kitchen well appointed. As a dog owner, it is sometimes difficult to find high class properties which also take dogs - Mashams Barn ticks both boxes, with a great, fully enclosed garden, a really useful boot room and fantastic walks from the door. We will be back !

Our 6 visit and not our last! The barn is fantastic and James is a fabulous host. The location is perfect for a quiet holiday. Clear nights are brilliant if you want to look at the Milky Way as there is not light pollution. Love that there is no mobile reception so holiday doesn't get interrupted. But there is great wifi if you need it. The barn is well equipped and has everything you need. Ludlow Food Company has great produce and worth a visit. Thanks for another great holiday!

Lovely peaceful location. Great garden, secure for dogs.

Superb cottage in superb surroundings, James was especially nice and helpful, he wasn't even bothered when we told him that one of us broke his WASP bat playing tennis, cos we didn't know what it was!!

Mashers Barn is in a great position looking down a valley which is very rural. The cottage is warm and has all that is needed for a comfortable stay. We very much enjoyed our stay in this friendly community in Shropshire.

Amazing place. Stayed twice and have booked a third stay. Lovely owners!

Our first impression of Mashers Barn was that it was tired. We did not appreciate having to clear and clean the wood burner before we could use it nor did we think that to cover the oven trays in foil was a satisfactory substitute for proper cleaning. The bed linen was old fashioned and several plates had chipped edges. The leaflets and information were very out of date and when we spoke to the owner he was curt and although we understood that a working farm is demanding, a smile costs nothing, we were after all paying guests!! BUT this building deserves a decent review because of its location and it is an excellent Barn conversion, with good facilities. It is cosy, well designed and in many ways well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the boot room/laundry room was a boom when the dogs came in needing a rub down. Believe it or not we would revisit and we hope our comments will wake up the owner. It is sad that whoever is currently maintaining and cleaning this little gem is letting it deteriorate. Sorry to be so harsh.

Excellent. Comfortable and wonderfully isolated but outstanding WiFi.

Fantastic holiday location. Very quite and peaceful. The nearby towns/ villages had good provisions so didn’t need to go far. Lovely warm and welcoming barn conversion. Didn’t want to leave.

A perfect piece of Shropshire heaven. Mashers Barn was very well equipped, spacious and comfortable. We would highly recommend.

The barn was comfortable and had everything needed to have a relaxing stay. It is in a remote location so you will have to drive for 20 mins minimum to get to a local shop but it is quiet and peaceful.

A fantastic retreat to recharge the batteries. Stunning barn conversion on the outskirts of Bucknel. The best thing is no phone signal! The barn does have a good WiFi connection though and is reasonably well equipped

A very spacious barn in a lovely quiet and scenic location. Great views from the downstairs. Comfortable bed and great wood burner with unlimited log supply.

Excellent barn conversion, has everything you need and in a beautiful location. The owner is on hand, but not intrusive but is around if you need him. We stayed here a few times as it’s that good. Great base for Ludlow, Leominster, Hereford. First winter holiday at the barn, fabulous starry nights with no light pollution. The wood burner was lovely and toasty after being outside looking at the Milky Way. Already booked for next year!
