The house is well-positioned for visits to the food town of Kirkcudbright the market town of Castle Douglas and the scenic Galloway Forest Park Isle of Whithorn and Mull of Galloway.     We loved our stay in Mountain Cross. The dogs had an amazing time, the kids could kick rugby balls about the garden was so spacious. All mod cons which as a sports mad family was ace to watch the sky sports matches. Kitchen had everything you could think of and in one right supply. Fire was amazing too. We had great weather and sone lovely sunsets were had at the local beaches. Great food nearby too

    Mountain Cross is in an excellent location close to the A75, ideal for touring this beautiful area. The house is very clean and comfortable with plenty of space for 2 families and is very well equipped. There are spectacular views from the house across the valley. The house is within walking distance of Gatehouse of Fleet which has a Spar and several pubs and shops. A welcome pack was much appreciated and there is plenty of coal and wood provided. We would definitely recommend Mountain Cross.

    Wonderful house and a wonderful location. The house is a really good size with a garden around an acre in size. Gatehouse itself has plenty of amenities. Close to Mossyard beach, the nature reserves inland, Lock Ken and the rest of the Galloway area. Highly recommended accommodation.

    brilliant place to sta y.. but beware of the foot plate on the door it seems to be a trip hazard if you arnt careful... this was our third visit to mountain cross and we have loved it every time.. it is a fantastic base to all the surrounding area
