    Wonderful house and a wonderful location. The house is a really good size with a garden around an acre in size. Gatehouse itself has plenty of amenities. Close to Mossyard beach, the nature reserves inland, Lock Ken and the rest of the Galloway area. Highly recommended accommodation.

    brilliant place to sta y.. but beware of the foot plate on the door it seems to be a trip hazard if you arnt careful... this was our third visit to mountain cross and we have loved it every time.. it is a fantastic base to all the surrounding area

    Excellent place to stay and relax as a family or friends. Beautiful gardens very spacious and well maintained. Next time will be our eleventh visit. Plenty to see and do. Don't need to say any more.

    Wonderful house well equipped in a lovely location. Garden great for the children and dogs. We have returned with further family members who loved it as much as we had on our first visit. Would highly recommend a stay.

    An excellent cottage with a large secure garden for the dogs to enjoy. Nice to watch the woodpeckers feeding from the nuts from the dining room window. Lovely walks close by and very friendly people in the village Great meals served in the local pub, the Masonic Arms Very good central location to visit local attractions, Galloway Forest, Castle Douglas, Gem Rock Museum, Kirroughtree Forest for a bike ride & to see the red squirrels, woodpeckers & jays. Well stocked Spar for all our BBQ supplies Much appreciated welcome gift from the owners and a phone call to check we had everything we needed. Hope to return to Mountain Cross one day.

    mountain cross has everything. clean.warm. very well equiped. nice views. we had a lovely family holiday there last week. the young ones aged 6 and 3 loved the garden watching the rabbits and birds.loads of space inside the house. smart tv good wifi looking forward to going back.
