Visit England 3 Star.\n\n A traditional cottage in this ever popular town Nu-Holme is situated in a quiet street in central Windermere. The property has been lovingly refurbished and recently further updated by it’s owners. \nNu-Holme provides comfortable accommodation for either two couples or a family having a lounge area downstairs and a separate sitting room upstairs for those guests who may like some quiet time. \nIt is fully equipped for those who wish to self cater although numerous takeaways restaurants cafes and bars are within easy walking distance together with Booths supermarket the famous Lakeland store and all local shops and amenities. The local Co-operative is also less than one minutes walk away and is open late. \nNu-Holme is ideal for those travelling on public transport with both railway and bus stations close by providing excellent services. Frequent local buses travel to Bowness by the lake Ambleside Grasmere Kendal and Keswick. \nThe two parking permits provided are also a great benefit to visitors as parking in the Lake District can sometimes be difficult. One is a residents permit which allows parking on all nearby streets.  The other permit being a Council permit for free parking in numerous car parks in Windermere Bowness Ambleside and Kendal. The nearest of which is less than one minutes walk away from Nu-Holme a distinct advantage in busy periods.     Excellent property....spotlessly clean and well equipped. The cutlery and crockery along with the linen were of the highest quality. Location was excellent. Loved the leather electric recliners. Top marks to the owners who took on board some negative feed back and put it all right, keep up the high standards and would deffo book again in the future.

    Cottage lovely and warm, location nice and central. Did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our arrival, very dusty every where. I had to wash all the cutlery and utensils prior to use. Tap in kitchen leaked. Bathroom tiles had water marks and mould, I managed to wipe most off with a cloth we had with us. Towel warmer the same, just needed a buff. Needs an extractor fan, opening the velux does not help with steam especially if weather damp. Sandwich toaster could do with replacing as well as some of the pans, black non stick coating wearing off, unhygienic and not good for health. Cottage nice and warm, position good for shops and amenities. Not ideal if you have a dog as no back yard

    Ideal for Sainsbury's and Co-op just 2 minutes walk away, open 7am-11pm. All equipment you could need is provided in the kitchen to make your own meals. Sandwich toaster, George Foreman Grill and steamer are useful extras. M&S crockery (nothing chipped) and good quality cutlery. Fridge/freezer a good size. Smell is still in the cupboard under the stairs, but you only need to go in there for the hoover and ironing equipment. Plenty of air fresheners around the accommodation. All settees have been replaced and are not as shown in the current photos. Downstairs now has a comfy fabric settee and upstairs there are 2x2 seater leather, electric recliners. Excellent for everyone to be able to relax after a long day. Loads of room downstairs to put walking boots and rucksacks on the tiled floor. All beds have recently replaced mattresses and are comfy. Bedding good quality cotton and fluffy white towels are now provided. Great to have working TVs in all rooms. Bathroom is large but could do with a plastic chair to put clothes on. Shaver point & light and a nice clean bath with shower attachment. Nice to have surfaces to place own shampoos etc onto. The only downside is if you have a car. We only once managed to park on the same street with the local on street permit. The permit does allow parking on a few other streets nearby and there is a very useful local area, pay and display parking pass. The nearest car park is only a few minutes walk away. One of the nicest cottages that we have stayed in, even if it didn't have any outside space.

    Nice cottage great location in Windermere. Only negative was smell downstairs when we arrived and couple days in week maybe from pets. Plenty of room but needs up dating.

    Surprisingly spacious, well equipped house. Very cozy and comfortable. Really loved the open kitchen and the chairs/beds were very comfy. You are in full control of the central heating (unlike many other cottages) and everything worked perfectly, including the shower (lovely large bathroom with Velux windows), oven, WiFi, etc. A working tv with freeview in every room. We had a great week at Nu Holme and would definitely visit again. Location excellent although you do get quite a bit of bustle/deliveries, etc as very close to main shops and co-op.

    Great cottage in great location. Only critisisms ....one of single mattresses was lumpy, double bed was very comfy.....suspect its a new mattress? Following an earlier complaint. Sofas are not very comfy.....rather tired/ old possibly time to replace?.Could do with installing a fan in the bathroom instead of asking guests to open the windows. Otherwise very well eqipped and decorated.....very thoughtfully done and would recommend. Thanks very much for a lovely holiday!
