Hoseasons "This barn conversion provides a luxurious and romantic space for couples to run away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while. All on the \nground floor. \nBeamed throughout.\n\nOpen plan living space.\n\n\nLivingdining area \nWith 32 Smart TV.\n\nKitchen area \nWith electric oven electric hob microwave fridge and dishwasher.\n\nBedroom \nWith double bed and en-suite with walk-in shower toilet and heated towel rail.\n Storage heaters underfloor heating in en-suite electricity bed linen towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Fridgefreezer and washerdryer in adjoining barn. Terrace with garden furniture. Enclosed lawned 1-acre garden shared with owners. Dogs free of charge. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note No children. There is an unfenced pond in the grounds 50 yards away. \n Pheasants Hill Old Byre was once one of the cow barns of Pheasants Hill Farm and is nestled adjacent to the owners’ home. The farm buildings date from the mid-18th century and comprise a traditional brick-and-flint farmhouse an impressive range of outbuildings - barns granary and cart shed. Originally belonging to the Hambleden Estate it ceased being a working farm in 1962 and was purchased by the present owner’s father in 1968. The farm is situated in the renowned Hambleden Valley and lies within the Pheasants Hill Conservation Area as well as the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is under the protection of a National Trust covenant.\nYou will find mementoes of previous generations throughout the property. The owner’s grandfather was a master carver and you will be sleeping in a wonderful carved oak bed that he made for his own wedding in 1902 but made super-comfortable with a brand new sprung base and orthopaedic mattress. The owner’s father was an artist and nearly all of the paintings and drawings in the property are his work.\nThe one-acre garden shared with the owners is fully enclosed to keep the deer out. Guests can enjoy their own sitting area with table and chairs provided. The garden is looked after without the use of pesticides or herbicides and is in consequence a haven for wildlife. The wildflower meadow is covered in cowslips in the spring and more than 100 Pyramid Orchids appear in the summer.\nThe owners are passionate about wildlife and the environment and will be donating 15 of earnings on the property to local wildlife and conservation charities. Hot water and heating in the property uses electricity solely from renewable resources. Rainwater for the garden is collected in a large underground cistern. Shoptea room and pubrestaurant ½ mile. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/133/840/1339200.jpg UKC1523

Can only echo other reviewers - this is a great place to stay. Instead of cutting corners, Kate and Charles provide high quality facilities (bed comfy, shower great, kitchen well-equipped) and then go the extra mile as well, with delightful extras and willingness to help or leave alone according to guests' wishes. It did seem a dog-friendly area overall, as another bonus. A really pleasant experience, so big thanks to Kate and Charles for their kindness!

Our 2nd visit, central to places of interest, welcoming, cosy and warm, lovely village and walks for the dog we shall return.

We had a great week in spite of the rather soggy weather. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We appreciated the preserves, cookies and eggs! The owners Kate and Charles were very helpful and very dog friendly. We’ve already booked to go back in June when we hope the weather will be much better & we can get out and about on some of the many walks in the area.

This was a very pleasant cottage for a very enjoyable week in an attractive part of England we probably wouldn't usually think of visiting. The owners were very dog friendly and so were the local pubs and that contributed to an easy and relaxing holiday.

Wonderful countryside to look around. Friendly people everywhere - not only in the pub. :) Maybe the most beautiful cottages we've ever seen. Only good impressions. It gives the best impression of what is England.
