Snowdrop Cottage is perfectly set in the delightful little village of Staveley just outside the fashionable spa town of Harrogate. The cottage itself dates to the 1700’s and was built as a house, however it was used as a stable and cowshed when the owner’s family moved onto the farm back in the late 1940’s. The owners have given it the love and attention it deserves and made it a fantastic holiday retreat. Snowdrop Cottage takes its name from the gorgeous snowdrops which grow in the adjacent orchard.
The Cottage has been fully renovated throughout but still retains its sense of history with exposed beams throughout. No expense has been spared and visitors are ensured of perfection throughout. Entry is into the open plan living area, instantly giving you that cottage feel with stone flooring throughout the ground floor. This boasts a fully equipped kitchen for all your culinary needs along with a cosy sitting area which offers a TV with Freeview and a dining table and chairs. On the same floor there is a master bedroom, which includes a plush double bed and en-suite facilities.
To the front of the property, you have a lovely patio area with seating, giving a great place to relax after a day exploring this fantastic area. Guests are also welcomed to wander around the owner’s award winning 3-acre garden with a wildflower meadow (looking its best in June), a small wood, a large shrub area with hundreds of daffodils, a vegetable garden and an acre of disused railway which is gardened for wildlife.
Harrogate is a short 20-minute drive meaning you have so much to explore. You have a world-famous tearoom right on your doorstop along with many fantastic restaurants, pubs and shops. Let’s not forget that Staveley is set perfectly in between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors meaning there are plenty of opportunities to explore what Yorkshire has to offer, whether it being on foot or by bike you will always have plenty to see and investigate. Nearby towns and cities also include Knaresborough, York and Ripon.
