This is such a wonderful property, it has to be experienced first hand. A labour of love by the owner, who occupies the original station building, this fully renovated carriage will provide a memorable and exciting holiday for up to four lucky guests.
A completely renovated interior manages to couple modern conveniences with touches of historic charm. The open plan living space has a two-seater couch, two arm chairs, a Smart TV, and a full kitchen. Both bedrooms have brand new furnishings with en suite shower rooms yet, the light fittings found throughout are from the Orient Express.
Step down from the doorway onto the original Horsebridge platform, one of the stops on the Sprat & Winkle line, where this train gets its name. With patio furniture for four and a BBQ, you can relish the feeling that the train stopped just for you. Across the gravel driveway, with ample parking for two cars, there is a garden run around area for children or dogs. Table tennis is available on request.
At the end of the entrance roadway, you’ll find the charming John Of Gaunts Inn pub, a delightful opportunity for a drink or two after (or before) a stroll along the famous Test Way footpath, which starts 100m from the holiday cottage.
Stay for a week or more to truly experience the magic of Sprat & Winkle for yourself.
