It is a very lovely property! We had a great time there! A lovely welcome surprise was waiting there was us too, which was a lovely touch. Occupying the full house we have however found the general storage quite challenging. Kitchen is big enough but all the cupboards and drawers were full so difficult to store food. Also felt a little bit deflated, as there is a lot of signage regarding fines if we don’t leave on time, or clean this and that. (I’m sure it is due to experience to make these warnings) We have arrived, living the kitchen and welcome present and straight on the next door is a if we don’t leave on time there is a fine.(we have just arrived, wanting to have fun and not thinking about leaving). The main bedroom on the first floor seems really loud. I think it’s the play room and kitchen freezers, humming all night. Otherwise the rest of the bedrooms are nice and quiet, which is great because we were laughing and playing guys downstairs and children slept well without being disturbed by the noise. Overall we had a lovely time there! It was a family get together and was lovely! Thank you

An amazing property in a fantastic location. Very well kept & very comfortable, with great space interns and external for all to enjoy. The best cottage we’ve stayed at as a big group.

A very enjoyable stay with various family members, a group of ten. The house was clean and in good condition. Some of the technology took a while to get used to and I am not sure we got the best of it, especially the heating downstairs. Access is by a narrow, twisty road and a narrow entrance. Overall a great experience.

Strickland Manor is well appointed and equipped. It was a perfect venue for our family gathering of 16 and 2 dogs. We have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends.

The house is lovely, it was hot weekend so when we arrived opened all windows, BIG mistake, rest of time house full of flies, managed to kill 57 in an hour and house still full, we went and bought sprays, sticky sticks for them to get stuck on, scented candles, nothing worked, we then had doors and windows shut all day Saturday and Sunday, there were cows and sheep in fields opposite, not owners fault but they should have had insect screens fitted to windows and screen doors to outside doors or a note even left warning of flies in the summer, apart from that we had a great time, lots of space to spread out between lounge, games room, orangery room, felt like hundreds of doors you could walk through as all went to different parts of the house, would stay again but in colder season

Strickland Manor took my breath away the minute we walked through the door. The photo's on the website do not do it justice. It's much larger than we expected. Everything is done to such a high standard and has been well thought out. There is plenty of seating, lots of different rooms to relax in and a full equipped kitchen with plenty of glasses, crockery, knives and forks etc. Nothing was overlooked. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable and again everything was to a very high standard. We rented the house for my 50th birthday and there were 12 of us staying in the Manor. Everyone was so impressed and we will definitely visit again in the future. Thank you for a perfect stay!

Another lovely stay at Strickland Manor. Twelve adults, all with differing requirements, catered for perfectly. We've been together for over 25 years and Strickland suited us very well.

Booked Strickland manor last year for may of this year for a big group of friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. I was a little apprehensive as the pictures looked great but would we be disappointed when we got there. Well quite simply it was outstanding. Far better than we could of imagined. The place was spotless and had everything we could possibly want with all fixtures and products finished to a high standard. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and spacious. The garden was a great size for the dogs to run about in and the outdoor experience with the bbq and dining area was great and this is where we spent most of our time. The local pub is no more than a five minute walk and it’s about a 25 min drive to pooley bridge. Would we come again, in a heartbeat. An amazing place to make great memories with friends and family

Absolutely beautiful house, the largest we have ever rented. 14 of us stayed for 3 nights (12 adults & 2 children) and there was more than enough room for everyone. It was a massive bonus that every room had it's own en-suite. The grounds were also lovely and secure for the children. We ate at the Strickland Arms on the Saturday night which is less then 1km from the house and the food and service were excellent. Penrith is just over 6 miles away (£16 in a taxi) so pretty accessible if you want to visit for shopping, food and drinks. I would definitely book Strickland Manor again.

Our only observation was that there were not any cupboards in the kitchen to store foods. Fabulous place for a family gathering

This was a great property, spotlessly clean, the bathrooms were modern and there was ample hot water, even when everyone was using showers first thing in the morning, and all of the bedrooms being fully en-suite was brilliant - no queuing for showers . The kitchen was well equipped for a large group, plenty of pots and pans and crockery, and the filter coffee machine was a godsend. The building is extremely well soundproofed, there was no problem with noise carrying into the bedrooms when late bedders and early risers were watching tv or clattering about in the kitchen. Everything was good quality, the beds and bedding and all of the furniture and fixtures and fittings were excellent - the upstairs carpeting was especially sumptuous underfoot. The local pub was only a couple of hundred yards away and it was lovely and friendly, although walking back in the dark was interesting as part of the route was along an unlit single track road with no verges or pavement - thank goodness for torches on modern smartphones, more to warn cars that we were there than to light our way. The nearest shop is several miles away but we were fully aware of that before we booked as it is pointed out in the description of the property, and it wasn't a problem for us. The only really minor changes we would have liked would have been to rearrange a couple of the kitchen cupboards to make room for groceries and provisions, adding a couple of full length mirrors in either hallways or bedrooms, and maybe a couple of lamps in the main lounge as the overhead light is a little harsh for sitting around in the evening - like I said, very minor things. Overall this was a fantastic property and we would have absolutely no hesitation in booking again.

What an amazing house. We celebrated a 60th birthday and Christmas with our big family, 16 stayed in the house while others at the pub. The house was big enough for us all to spread out especially the children in the games room. The dining table was large enough to get us all round. The Christmas tree and decorations that were put up were lovely and very much appreciated. We had 5* celebrations in a 5* house. Well done to the owners .
