Bit over priced. The house is ok, the kitchen needs the organising and more work too space, no Need for the double sink when You have a dishwasher. Not suitable for children.

Even though the photos of the Byre convinced me to book it, they don’t really do it justice. The cottage was warm extremely well furnished and fitted out and very welcoming. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The balcony at the rear was very nice and the perfect place to end the day. Plenty of hot water to shower or soak. Loads of good places to eat within walking distance and a nice little supermarket at the end of the town also walkable. It has it’s own little loch and a stroll across the golf course after your dinner is the perfect way to end the day. My only regret was the cottage was so warm I couldn’t light the wood burner. I highly recommend the Byre.

Lovely cottage in a lovely location. Had my cup of tea every morning watching the rabbits in the garden and warmed up in front of the fire in the evenings. Although you’re in the centre of Newtonmore and close to lots of things, you feel like you’re tucked away given the views and no noise.

We had a great time here and didn't want to leave! Very convenient location for shops, museums, hiking, etc. in the area. The kitchen was fully stocked and there is a co-op a short walk away for any groceries, and the owners kindly provided a few treats and the always-essential tea and coffee. It was a bit chilly in the evenings even with the radiators and wood stove, so a few extra blankets might have been nice, but otherwise everything was clean and comfortable. Lots of assorted books and DVDs are provided if you prefer a quiet night in. We finished most of the Wildcat Trail over the course of several days--it starts just down the road, and the scenery was breathtaking. The Highland Folk museum is also well worth a visit for any history buffs. If we return to the Cairngorms, we will definitely stay here again!

What a fabulous cottage. Beautiful inside with stunning views at the back. The little touches just added to a wonderful stay. The owners were most helpful and even contacted us to say the house was available earlier in the day. The cottage was just ideal for a family of 4 with a spaniel. Numerous dog walks directly from the door, pub just a few meters away. Couldn’t have asked for a better house and location.

What an amazing place. Modern inside with everything you need. It was the little details from the owners that made our stay special - a welcome whisky liqueur, bath salts and red wine next to the amazing bath tub, supply of wood for the fire, milk in the fridge along with teabags, dishwasher tablets and a great folder with guides to the local area and sightseeing. There's a golf course out the back which was handy for walking our dog and it was a short walk to the co-op convenience store. Brilliant base for seeing the lochs and local attractions. We visited in winter, so were surrounded by snowy mountains and lovely scenery. Beautiful cottage, thoroughly recommended.

A great place to stay. We will stay there again when up in the Highlands as it will take a lot to better this accommodation.

A superb cottage in a beautiful area. Everything we could have needed over the weekend was catered for in the cottage. It was beautifully furnished and the wood burner, with its plentiful supply of fuel, was lovely for the autumnal evenings. Set right in the heart of the village it was excellently placed for the local shops and pub and a great starting point for the local walks. Lovely all round. Thanks.
