The Hideaway is an ideal location for couples, friends or family to enjoy a holiday in the heart of The East Neuk of Fife, with a sandy beach just minutes from the cottage. Located in the thriving seaside town of Anstruther with a fishing harbour and pier as well as two sandy beaches. In an elevated location looking over the red pantile roof tops to the Firth of Forth. The cottage is entered at street level with free parking right outside. Two separate outdoor spaces allow guests to soak in fabulous views and both morning or afternoon sun.
The living/dining area is the spot for everyone to gather to plan the next day’s activities. There is a shower room and a Superking / Twin bedroom. Steep stairs lead to the lower ground floor with two further bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen with doors leading to the sunny courtyard with seating, where you can enjoy a glass of wine. From the cottage wander down to the harbour-side for a coffee and watch the sea and activity. Anstruther has eating places to suit all tastes, from an award winning fish and chips, cafés, traditional inns, ice cream shops, bakers, gift shops and galleries.
Explore the old lanes and wynds with old houses with tales of seafaring captains. Don’t forget your bucket and spade, the sandy beaches are ideal for building sand castles, paddling and exploring the rock pools. For coastal walks the Fife Coastal Path goes through the town and leads in either direction with great views over the shoreline to Edinburgh and takes you to secluded coves, quaint fishing villages and sandy beaches.
St Andrews is only 9 miles away with good shopping facilities as well as lots of places to eat, ice cream parlour, pubs and tea shops. Well known as being the home of golf, visit the British Golf Museum or play a round on one of the championship courses.
