We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Mill House. It could have done with an indoor clothes horse and sweeping brush, but other than that it’s a really nice property. Perfect for children in a beautiful, quiet and unspoilt part of the country. Owners were helpful and friendly. We spent most of the week walking, chilling on the beach and in the hot tub. If this is your thing, then I would definitely recommend staying here.

The house was nice however was different from expectations as was slightly different to photos. There was no interactions with the hosts throughout the time, only a bottle of Chardonnay and a cake was left by them. It lacked a welcome guide or any house instructions in terms of how to use the heating as it was freezing for the 4 nights we stayed. Only the under floor heating worked. The website failed to say it was joined to other houses, which were incredibly loud as you could hear every footstep and action by them. The residents were extremely loud every night around 11pm-after midnight and woke us up with, what only I can describe as, a murderous scream, followed by laughter and chat. The residents would’ve known that the end cottage is rented accommodation and that we were clearly there but there was no respect or courtesy in regards to the noise level. The hot tub was a nice touch, however felt extremely exposed as it was surrounded by low fences in what felt like someone’s back garden. - You can be seen in the hot tub from the play area / the car park as is it is all shared by the other two houses that are joined to the cottage. Overal would not return nor recommend.

We had a wonderful time at The Old Mill House. The house was homely and comfortable and the hot tub was an excellent bonus. The local area is stunning with beautiful walks from the doorstep across countryside to the local beaches. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We had a pleasant stay at the old mill house!! Highly recommend for a very quiet get away to the point there no signal on our phone which was just what we wanted!! Photos don’t do the property justice it’s a very well presented country property with stunning views!! The safety for the children and play area was great. We had arrived very late on the Friday which we made the owners aware wasn’t a issue at all they left the key & lights on with a package welcome on our table of 4 hot cross buns & a bottle of wine. We adventured out to Hartland any destination felt like it was in the middle of no mans land with beautiful views on arrival we highly recommend that walk also a cheeky stop on route back to the Rectory Farm for a delicious cream tea all of the surrounding areas was roughly 10-15miles away from the old mill house including a local gagare. Overall our stay was pleasant but it’s definitely how you make it we a young family of 5 with children of the age 9,8,4 and I would highly recommend it if your into this kind of thing.

This cottage was lovely. From the moment we saw it online and booked it we were excited for our holiday. We saw from the location that it was quite a way out from any big towns which we really don’t mind. To get to the cottage you have to drive for about 2 miles down a single track road, however the village is very small so the traffic was very very quiet. The views from the cottage are amazing, you can see the coast so we decided to have a walk down to the beach. It took about 45 minutes down some very steep roads, but when you get there the beach is lovely. It’s also about a 10/15 minute walk from the village pub The Olde Smithy. It’s in a very peaceful location, no traffic noise or anything and If walking back in the evening there are no street lights. There is parking available at the cottage and a nice big garden which has a mini park for kids. The cottage inside was nice and clean, a few cobwebs here and there but that’s to be expected. There was a 3/4 seater sofa but also another one in the little snug just on the offside of the living room. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need, plenty of cutlery/plates and some cleaning products as well. The bathroom was nice and big with a bath and seperate shower. The big bonus was the hot tub which we used every night. It is for the sole use of this cottage but the fencing around the patio doesn’t make it very private (we didn’t see any of the neighbours anyway so it didn’t really matter to us). I would highly recommend this cottage and I would definitely stay here again.
