Shops 1 mile, pub with good food and real ale 300 yards.

    We absolutely loved The Old Stables. It was perfectly situated for us; easily accessible from the motorway and Manchester airport, village amenities very close, while feeling you were in the middle of the countryside. A well laid out space, and by having the living area split the bedrooms, so that two were one side and two the other, it makes it ideal for friends sharing. We loved the wood burning stove, and such a comfortable space. Looking forward to a return visit!

    We stayed for a week and found the The Old Stables very spacious, immaculately clean and perfectly located for access to Liverpool and Chester. Delamere forest is also very close by with a good set up for the kids (Gruffalo walk) The hosts were easy to communicate with and very friendly and helpful when this was required.

    Cottage requires updating and a good clean. Showers require re grouting, new mattresses and cover required, sofas terribly uncomfortable and dinning table bent !! Tv flickers on most channels. Really not up to standard! Kitchen utensils old and even rusty!

    Cottage had the appearance that it had not been thoroughly cleaned. There were several obvious cobwebs. The bin in one shower room had not been emptied and the bin in the kitchen had rubbish under the bin liner. The oven was very greasy as were the oven trays. Some of the crockery was tired looking and chipped. Both shower cubicles need a complete refurbishment.

    We went for a hen do the owners were very friendly and even allowed us to rent a hot tub on there grounds the house was beautiful and really easy to find not far from the motorway! It’s 15 mins away from Chester town centre, I would 100% stop there again overall stay superb.

    Excellent location and home for a friends weekend away. Fabulous local pubs. Easy access into Chester Christmas markets (Taxi was £15 each way). Took all our food and drink so didn’t need to use shops.

    Great accommodation with all you need for a family get together. Warm and cosy with great space. Plenty of cooking facilities and a Tesco and pubs all within a short distance. The owners checked we were ok and we had a lovely Halloween party and decoration up in the beams which was great for the young childrens. Certainly will use again.
