From the friendly personal welcome to the extra little touches..... this was a fab holiday. The location is ideal for visiting the Scottish lowlands. Edinburgh and Glasgow are a 30mins train ride away. The Snug is beautiful set in private grounds with a fantastic hot tub. The owners ensure they are on hand for any advice or support throughout your break

Fantastic accommodation, everything you could expect from a holiday cottage. Allison was very welcoming and extremely helpful. Would recommend as a place to get away for a quiet week.

Me and my wife have just returned from a week long stay at The Snug and we couldn't of been happier. The Cottage is immaculate, very warm and welcoming also the welcome pack was a lovely touch especially when you have just arrived its a lovely way to settle in. The Cottage is well laid out it is lovely and modern, the pictures are exactly how it looks, beautiful. There is plenty of crockery and all the essentials we needed. The bathroom is massive which we loved plenty of room to get ready when there are two of you. The Bedroom again is lovely and spacious, well lit and decorated. The bed was also lovely and comfy. The main attraction though has to be the hot tub, with different light setting, built in speakers and water fountains, we spent many hours in here after sight seeing and it was well needed after a long day sight seeing. The area its self is lovely and I would recommend a walk on the nature reserve close by. It is also perfectly located for those who like to explore with many castles, Abbeys, Cathedral and monuments easily within a hours drive and thats before you have even set foot in Edinburgh or Glasgow. A great tip if you exploring would be to buy a explorer pass from Historic Environment Scotland. Its about £35 each but gives you access to all there locations throughout Scotland, you can then use there online map to plan a trip in different parts of Scotland, we never drove any further than a hours distance and managed to pack in 2-3 of their locations each day. As for Allison, we couldn't of asked for a better host, very welcoming and genuinely lovely person to chat to. We have recommended your beautiful Cottage to all our family and friends and will definitely return again if we are exploring up that way again. Jonny and Amy.

A very warm and friendly welcome, the cottage exceeded my expectations and was very well equipped. The location was beautiful and very quiet and in easy excess for so many sites to see and the train service into Edinburgh excellent and a must if visiting the city. Would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family

I can not fault this accommodation it has everything you need and more. Alison welcomed us and explained everything we needed to know along with local information and advice. It was immaculate and very comfortable and we found travelling around in the area very easy. The train station close by was great for getting to Edinburgh or Glasgow with ease. The private garden and hot tub were an added bonus to this accommodation and we hope to stay here again next year. We would rate this the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in so far and doubt it will be beaten.

We had a wonderful stay at The Snug. Alison and Graeme (the owners) could not have been more welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The Snug itself was gorgeous - exactly as the pictures show and the hot tub was a nice feature. The location was ideal as you have easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh via train which is about a 30 minute walk, or a few minutes in the car which you can leave in the station car park for free. Also, the surrounding areas are beautiful with lovely country parks and quaint villages. The Snug is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Scotland. Great value for money.

We had a wonderful week here our hosts were very friendly nothing was to much trouble .The snug is superb accommodation for two ,the hot tub was lovely and warm even in the rain .There is a railway station a few minutes away which was very convenient for trains to Glasgow or Edinburgh free parking at the station .We enjoyed the Kelpies ,the Falkirk water wheel and Livingstone retail outlet these we drove to .Not being walkers we didn’t investigate potential trails .Theres nothing in Blackridge itself but just being at the snug in lovely surroundings was very relaxing .We will visit again .

The Snug is quite simply one of the very best. A very comfortable award winning high standard of accommodation set in beautifully quiet surroundings. Alison and Graeme very accommodating and provide a super welcome. This is an excellent location for exploring Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. Easy and cheap rail connections to Edinburgh and Glasgow, leaving the car for free at the local Blackridge sation 2 minutes away.
