The price had increased considerably from last year and there was a problem with the water supply. However overall a thoroughly comfortable stay.

Lovely cottage and very well equipped. Delightful garden and wonderful wildlife. Suffers a little because of proximity to road junction and noisy traffic especially motorbikes but still provides a haven of peace and tranquility. Good pub food across the way and only a short (2 mile) drive into Coniston village. Layout in cottage reflects the quirky origin of the building. Would recommend a stay here.

Excellent location. Surrounded by birdsong and flowers. Quiet, peaceful and close to good walking and bustle of the Lake District. Property delightfully restored from former station masters house to a practical, comfortable modern cottage.

The accommodation was very quirky. However, I felt that the lounge didn’t really fit in. Needs to be cosier, there is a big dining table in the lounge that doesn’t really suit. A nice fireplace would make it comfier. The outside area is amazing and perfect for dogs. Very private with a lovely pond.

Great place to stay with lovely walks on the doorstep and two excellent pubs close to the property. Very comfortably furnished with everything you need for your stay. Two decent sized bedrooms, a large lounge and well-equipped kitchen. A bonus for us that it is dog-friendly.

Lovely spot with two near pubs (book first for food). A very comfortable cottage on the whole- good kitchen. Had a problem with the heating on last night (too cold- heating had gone off). The water pressure in the shower is very low (needs a pump) although it does taste delicious, coming from it's own well. Also, entrance could do with widening. A good stay though- we enjoyed our time in this beautiful area- excellent walking.

This is a great place to stay! Very cosy, with a well equipped kitchen (but take a knife sharpener!), comfy beds and a large living room with a huge tv. We didn't use the garden as it was October and windy and wet, but it was lovely watching the local birds splashing about in the pond at the back, and I imagine the planting looks great in the summer. There are good walks to Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man straight out of the front door, and more leisurely expeditions to Coniston Water and the ferries are very easy too. We also went to Ravenglass and rode on the railway - a 45-minute drive. Torver is tiny but has two pubs within staggering distance, a deli for when you can't be bothered to make your own breakfasts or packed lunches, and what may be the only telephone box in the UK that's been converted into a fish tank! Highly recommended.

Comfortable and cosy holiday accomodation. Kitchen very well equipped. Is well maintained and clean throughout. Excellent base for a walking holiday with various walks direct from door. Torver is very small but has two pubs and a small deli. Main shopping in nearby Coniston. We had an excellent holiday.
