Travel cot. Welcome pack. External utility room with tumble dryer shared.\n\n Sitting-out area with BBQ. Large enclosed lawned garden shared. Bike store shared. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note This property has a natural water supply from a well. There is an unfenced 3ft drop a fenced pond and 4 steps in the garden.\n\n You’ll be on the right track during your stay at The Station Master’s House which forms part of the former railway station in the hamlet of Torver. Close to Coniston Water this is an excellent starting point to explore the nearby countryside and wildlife and the Lakeland Fells including Coniston Old Man. The property has been thoughtfully furnished throughout with a well-equipped kitchen and a livingdining room which boasts comfy leather sofas. The property offers two double bedrooms one of which has an additional single bed and they both have sumptuous bed linen adding an extra comfort. They both enjoy views over the beautiful garden and surrounding area. This spacious cottage still has the distinctive feel of its former use with a raised lawned terrace which is part of the old platform - the perfect place to sit and relax.\nThe nearby Lakeland villages of Coniston and Hawkshead are idyllic and have an abundance of shops and cafés. For the more adventurous why not take to the tree top challenge at Grizedale Forest or venture along the many paths by foot or by bike. For steam enthusiasts you can still take to the tracks with a ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite trains near Ulverston or the elegant Victorian Steam Yacht Gondola which sails between March and November on Coniston Water. There are so many activities to keep you busy all year round in this wonderful area. Beach 18 miles. Shop 2½ miles pub 10 yards restaurant 100 yards.     Fantastic find! Everything lovely and clean. Using bottled water a slight trial but owners provided more than enough for our requirements. The little added touches where gratefully received. Lovely Xmas tree and quality facilities and bedding. Thank you we will be back!

    The price had increased considerably from last year and there was a problem with the water supply. However overall a thoroughly comfortable stay.

    Lovely cottage and very well equipped. Delightful garden and wonderful wildlife. Suffers a little because of proximity to road junction and noisy traffic especially motorbikes but still provides a haven of peace and tranquility. Good pub food across the way and only a short (2 mile) drive into Coniston village. Layout in cottage reflects the quirky origin of the building. Would recommend a stay here.

    Excellent location. Surrounded by birdsong and flowers. Quiet, peaceful and close to good walking and bustle of the Lake District. Property delightfully restored from former station masters house to a practical, comfortable modern cottage.
