With superb view towards the hillsides of Matlock and Riber in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales, this property provides a relaxing get away from it all holiday experience. This west wing of a former mill owner’s home dates from the 18th century and stands in 16 acres of rolling, peaceful countryside with ample private parking for four cars, and is just a short distance from the market town of Matlock. The quiet, rural location is the perfect base from which to tour the surrounding countryside of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park with many delightful walks right from the door of the property.
With a stylish blend of old and new throughout, the ground floor has a cosy living room with oak beams and wood burner, a well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, a reading area with sofa bed (for children under 12), a utility room and a bathroom with a corner bath. Upstairs are four rooms: a spacious master bedroom with kingsize bed; a second bedroom with double bed; and the third bedroom with a single bed and a 2ft 6in bed. An upstairs shower room completes this restored property.
Outside, visitors can enjoy the spacious open area with garden ponds and a stream. The grounds, which are shared with the neighbouring holiday cottage, are very large and provide the ideal place where you can fly kites, play ball games or just to relax on a quiet evening watching the sun set whilst enjoying a spot of alfresco dining.
