    Great apartment with lovely sized lounge and well stocked kitchen. It is at top of steep hill so be prepared for a mini workout when walking back. Very close to the town centre. If staying for more than 3 nights you will want to bring extra towels as only 1 bath towel per person supplied and no washing machine.

    We have stayed at Brantfield House before in a different apartment and find the location overlooking the lake and within walking distance of the town perfect. No.1 is a lovely place to stay. Clean and comfortable and very well appointed and equipped. A word to the less mobile, there is a flight of 14 steps down to the bedrooms and bathroom on the lower ground floor. Having a fractured knee (holiday was booked long before this happened) my wife was a little thrown at first but after a little thought, managed quite well going up and down on her rear end! We will definitely be returning to Brantfield House next year.

    A very comfortable apartment with a beautiful view of Lake Windermere from the sitting room. Bowness is a lovely town with a great choice of places to eat before walking the calories off back up the hill which was quite steep in places but it got easier once we had done it a few times! We will certainly look to stay there again 😊

    The property was as described. Parking was easy. Kitchen well equipped and we cooked most days. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. Having a lake view was great - it changed so much with the light and weather.

    Perfect for a short break with lots of facilities available locally. For those who don’t know Bowness-on-Windermere a warning about the very steep hill from the village to the house would be in order.

    Fantastic spot lovely views of the lake everything was great except for the smell of dampness in the bedroom and dampness on the skirting board to the point we had enough and went home a night early

    A lovely apartment with amazing views of Lake Windermere. It was neat and clean, but everything downstairs in the bedrooms felt a little damp. The bedding and the chair were noticeably damp when you sat on them and the towels didn't seem to ever dry properly. Otherwise I have no complaints, the location is fabulous and it's close to some lovely walks too. The Cumbrian Cottage staff were really helpful whenever I phoned too.

    Lovely place to stay. Clean and very comfortable. Earlier reviews mentioned the smell of damp in the bedrooms. If that was a problem it isn't any more. Well equipped with everything you might need and quiet location despite being a few hundred yards from the town centre. It is a steep hill up to the property from the town but don't let this put you off. It's only about 400 yards and I'm a fat bloke aged 63 and not particularly fit. Not a problem! Highly recommended.

    We loved staying in this apartment with a huge living area and large bay windows with lake view. It was well equipped and very clean, a lovely space to relax after long days of fell walking. We liked the fact it was up the hill a few minutes walk from the village as it was quiet and peaceful. The only negative was the stressful rush up the M6 to collect the keys by 5pm from the Windermere office only to find there's a keybox at the property.

    We all enjoyed our stay here; the flat was lovely and had everything we needed. It was close to the Dalesway for walks and Bowness for eating and drinking, and not far from Windermere. We were happy to entertain friends here as we had all we needed.

    Wonderful apartment with great views down the Lake. The only reason i did not give 10/10 was the damp musky smell in the bedrooms. Which stayed all week. Other than that great place to stay
