Great location and views. House is comfortable and quiet. Glenridding has enough facilities eg shops and pubs. The Travellers Rest pub down the lane can be recommended. The Ullswater Way is fabulous and made simpler by using the Ullswater Steamers to get to/from start and finish points.

Cottage was a bit cold when we first arrived storage heater in bedroom was off therefore no use until next day. No sticks or firelighters to light the log burner until we went to the shop next day. Other than that great place to stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at High Rake and again we had an excellent time. Comfortable, warm, well equipped cottage, with spectacular views and walks from the door. We didn’t want to leave.

A cosy cottage in the hills above Glenridding. The haul up the garden with the luggage was worth the effort to reach this welcoming cottage. A well equipped kitchen ensured meals could be prepared easily and a comfy bed ensured a good nights sleep. The village of Glenridding, with a selection of good places to eat, is a 10 minutes walk downhill and a 15 minute walk uphill on the way back. Superb walking of all standards from the door and Glenridding is a good base for all the Lake District has to offer. Keswick and Windermere are within easy reach by car and public transport. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and would stay again.

Lovely cottage set in beautiful surroundings. Cottage was clean and comfy and had all we needed. Very loud plumbing was quite amusing but if you had light sleepers might be an annoyance! Access up the steps would be difficult if you have any sort of mobility issue or large amounts of luggage but does mean you have a good view.Lack of phone signal and WiFi was nice in some ways to escape the technology but unless you are on Vodafone you are completely cut off. Short walk into Glenridding which has a decent selection of pubs and restaurants. Would happily stay here again.

This very well equipped and comfortable cottage was a perfect base for walking and exploring. Some may not like the fact that there is no internet and very limited phone signal. A beautiful view and a very tranquil location. There are several good options for eating within easy walking distance.
