Brilliant location next to Aira Force. Loved being away from it all with no phone signal or WiFi. Great space indoors and especially out. Could do with a deep clean and the log burner sorting though - as it was very smoky and we only tried using it once.

    Amazing location, beautiful and spacious.

The only slight niggle that stopped me giving 10's on everything was the shower pump which had ceased working before we got there but we were able to have a bath so not a total disaster but it would have been nice to have a working shower and the shower head in the bathroom was a bit of a poor DIY effort. The rest of the cottage was beautifully clean and comfortable in the most amazing location apart from the road which was incredibly busy and with no footpath you did feel a bit vunerable and the fact that although being described as dog friendly the only green in the front and back yards was in the form of daffodils which are most definitly not dog friendly so strict supervision was required. We overcame the road by finding a path though the National Trust land and really did have the most amazing relaxing stay. Overall I'd give it a 9/10 and we would go back.

Fantastic location, lovely cottage but sadly let down by poor plumbing, rubbish showers, unreliable toilet flush, sporadic water pressure and a lack of attention to cleanliness. The cottage size, location and set up were great but the double bed is well past it unfortunately. A new bed and a couple of electric showers plus some plumbing attention would make this place wonderful.

The downstairs of the property was fine but the bathrooms need some attention as does the plumbing. If you sleep in the main double bedroom or sit in the lounge every time somebody uses the toilet or shower it makes a loud noise until the water has stopped running. We were told that the log burner was not to be used due to it smoking which was not great. The information folder provided was very poor. No details about how to put the radiators on upstairs so it was very cold in the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Love this cottage. This is the second time we’ve stayed there and will be staying again next year. It would benefit from a full deep clean but there’s only so much one lady can do on her own! It’s far from unliveable, but people do tend to pick at it. The only thing I would recommend they do is buy a new double bed and bedding as that one is getting a bit old now. Oh and maybe a bigger frying pan but that’s not important. The location is perfect! Right beside Aira force, lots of great walks from the door, the pier for the Ullswater steamers just over the road - what a beautiful lake that is!! Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the lakes, it’s in such a relaxing place but only a short drive into Keswick if you want to go shopping.

We loved Aira Cottage we had 4 adults and 2 dogs - the cottage was very warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, especially the dishwasher. The drying room for the dogs was well used by us. Wonderful walks across the packhorse bridge and into Aira Force - this we did early in the morning before it got busy. We played table tennis every evening in the games room. We found it totally relaxing not having an internet or mobile connection.

The location of the cottage is fantastic. On arrival the smell in the cottage wasn't very welcoming and the same could be said for the overall cleanliness, but after a couple of hours cleaning it was a lot better. The location is fantastic and a great place to stay in the lakes. The cottage could be wonderful but could do with some tlc, inside and out.
