Alderley House is a large house, situated on the outskirts of Bourton - on - the - Water, and ideally located when visiting this part of the Cotswolds. Our group, which consisted of six persons, were pleased with the house and the attention of the joint owner Margaret who was there to welcome us to the property at our preferred time of arrival. Everything was there to make it a 'home from home', making us entirely satisfied with our stay.

There were only 3 of us in the cottage, but it would have been comfortable for many more. We received a warm welcome - the scones jam and cream were delicious. One day we chose to stay in and appreciated the jigsaws we found along with other games and books. An excellent holiday. Thank you.

This is the third year running that our family of seven adults and a dog have booked a week at Alderley House. It is perfectly located a 10-15 minute walk from the bustling town of Bourton on the Water, yet is situated in a quiet residential area. There are numerous countryside walks from the property and the Cotswold towns of Stow, Buford and Broadway are only a short drive away. The house is nicely furnished and decorated and the kitchen is fully equipped. The separate utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. The four en suite bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. Outside there are lovely sitting areas with ample cushions for the seats. The hosts, Margaret and Steve are helpful and charming and kindly provide a welcome pack and plenty of little extras such as hand soaps and cleaning equipment. I would highly recommend this lovely house.

Warm welcome by owners and location is great. The property was warm, comfortable and well equipped. I stayed in Bedroom 3 and would have liked a shelf or ledge to place toiletries etc on in the shower room. Would certainly recommend this property.

We booked the house for an annual get together. The house is much bigger inside than it appears in the pictures. The provision of equipment in the kitchen is good, maybe a few plastic plates and cups for children would be useful. We hadn’t appreciated that every bedroom had an en-suite bathroom which was a nice surprise. The welcome basket was a lovely addition and we enjoyed all the treats. The host was helpful and it was nice to be met at the property and be shown around.

Cosy & spotlessly clean accommodation for the first really chilly weekend of the autumn. Very well equipped house, good sized bedrooms all with generous en-suites; good beds & linens. The heating worked well, which isn't always the case with rental properties. Very friendly owners, refreshing lack of house rules. The only reason this is marked down from perfect is that we were slightly disappointed with Bourton-on-the Water itself, which is very "touristy" and compared with other nearby Cotswold villages we've visited such as Burford & Stow. That's not a criticism of the house itself.
