Each of the five holiday cottages offer space and a high level of comfort. Four of the cottages Annexe 1 (UK44935), Annexe 2 (UK44936), Annexe 3 (UK44937) and Annexe 4 (UK44940) are designed to sleep two people, making them ideal for couple retreats or a peaceful solo escape. Annexe 5 (UK44939) is a family sized cottage sleeping up to four guests and this cottage has the added bonus of being pet-friendly, ensuring that your furry family members can join in on the holiday fun too. The cottages have private parking for up to two cars and a communal courtyard set with garden furniture, giving you a perfect place for you to sit back and relax after a day exploring this lovely part of County Durham.
Outdoor lovers will enjoy walking and cycling routes right from the doorstep, within a 10-minute drive you are in the centre of the historic city of Durham with its beautiful riverside walks. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is filled with a variety of historic sites and popular visitor attractions that are centuries old. Durham Castle and cathedral must be visited to appreciate the awe-inspiring architecture. The Gala Theatre is in the centre of the city, packed with top quality restaurants, bistros, cafés and bars. Durham is a thriving city with plenty of entertainment at any time of the year. The incredible Lumiere Festival takes place every second November, enjoy the jazz festival, arts festival, Miners Gala, and many more free attractions, as well as the weekly farmers’ market. The university, colleges and campuses can be found nearby, and this is the ideal base to get to know the university and visit friends and family who might be attending one of the graduation ceremonies. The top-class cricket ground of Durham County Cricket Club is also only a 20-minute drive away, great for enjoying a test match or concert. The very popular Beamish Living Museum is a 25-minute drive away and makes a good day out for families of all ages, and the Angel of the North sculpture is just a 30-minute drive, while Newcastle and the Metro Centre are around 45 minutes by car and the Heritage Coast is under 20 miles away.
