There is much to do in this picturesque area of Highland Perthshire, just 3 miles along the road at the end of Loch Tay is the pretty conservation village of Kenmore, where guests can enjoy riverside walks, water sports, boat trips on the loch and several excellent places to eat. The village hosts regular events, each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season and a firework display at New Year. Aberfeldy is only a 20-minute drive and has many local independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a cinema, a whisky distillery and an award-winning book shop.
Take a Highland safari, a great way to explore the mountains, and spot local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. This area has many historic buildings, castles and gardens which you can visit and discover the rich history of the area. There are ample opportunities for walking and routes for all abilities, with the Ben Lawers 7 Munro circuit within 10 miles. Drummond Hill is close by and has some great walking routes to view points where you can see some of the most spectacular scenery. There are many mountain biking trails through the forest, as well as white water rafting, bungee jumping and horse riding close by.
