Very pleasant cottage and lovely helpful owner I would prefer if the let cottage garden could have been separated from the owners Also some instructions on how to work the oven However these things are achievable and a quick fix especially the oven Didn’t spoil our stay just took a bit of effort on my part to work oven out Overall a very comfortable cottage Will need to be upgraded in the future to give access to more square pin electric sockets Don’t let this put you off as generally it is a very nice place to stay with a lovely owner

It was a very last minute few days and was perfect, great welcome and helpful host.

Beck Cottage was amazing. It was so lovely to have a cottage where we could take all of our 3 dogs. The space is fantastic, a lovely big kitchen with everything you need, a really warm lounge with a log burner if you wish. The bed rooms are perfectly sized and the shower really hot and effective. The other added bonus is the entrance via the car port, perfect place to get dry and mud off before entering the house. The host was great and although their house is only next door she left us very much to our own devices. The location is just outside Appleby so obviously you have to travel a little to get to a pub or the shop but I'm pretty sure you would be picking the cottage for its amazing location in a peaceful village so that shouldn't put you off. There are so many great walks just out of the door, including a beautiful one to Hoff and Rutter Falls. We also traveled a bit further afield and went to High Force, Cow Green Resevoir and High Cup Nick. Appleby is a nice walk away too but we would recommend avoiding the stepping stones but for all the most agile! We ended up doing a bit of a damp river crosssing :)

Very relaxing In a quiet location. Lots of walks right from the door and Appleby is a short drive with a lovely castle and grounds. Would defiantly visit again.

Lovely cottage in an amazing location. Nice a clean, and close to lovely walks and all of the amenities of Appleby. Instructions for the oven would have been useful as it took us a day or two to work out how it worked! And some more sharp knives and scissors would be super useful and a larger frying pan! Likewise some more crockery as there is only one plate per person! Otherwise I couldn’t fault It. Warm and cosy, and loved the log burner.
