The cottage is located on a quiet country road a mile or so inland from Red Wharf Bay, with views of Snowdonia. Nearby is a lovely path running all the way into Benllech, plus there's a nature reserve with extensive boardwalks just a couple of minutes' walk away. The whole place exudes a sense of tranquility and we saw lots of wildlife during our stay. The owners were exceptionally friendly and were there to meet us on both arrival and departure, and left one of the nicest welcome packs we've had. The garden was a decent size; plenty of room for our favourite outdoor game of Smite. The house was roomy, and had all the equipment we needed for the week. My only (minor) criticism would be that it would have been nice to have a few more homely touches like books and paintings around the place. This is a very minor thing though and overall it was a lovely cottage and we'd highly recommend it.

The cottage is a beautiful mix of original features and modern ammenities. Everything you need is available..with a well stocked kitchen to dvds for a rainy afternoon. The cottage is immaculate in presentation and the owners are warm and welcoming...kicking off your stay with a welcome package. Amble off road parking and secure garden for the children to explore. Although the cottage is a grade 2 building it is lovely and warm inside and the water piping hot. Washing facilities are available which come in handy after a day at the beach.

Lovely cottage in a nice location. Friendly hosts who had provided a welcome pack and plenty of useful information about the Isle of Anglesey. The kitchen had everything we needed and the log burner was a welcome comfort in December. On the down side, the cottage needs new carpets upstairs as the ones that were there were old and stained (particularly the landing). All curtains were old and shabby and in need of replacing. The beds were not in keeping with a cottage of an 1860's build, as they were black plastic, too modern and not comfortable. The upstairs is in need of being sensitively decorated and brought to standard. We cannot fault the hosts, this is not a criticism of them but this cottage has so much potential.

You would be hard pushed to find anything wrong with this cottage or the owners. Plenty of space, peaceful and within a mile of whatever you want .

The cottage was warm and cosy, the hosts very helpful and welcoming. There was plenty of room for our group of 7. The cottage is in a great spot for exploring Anglesey and about a mile away for long walks on the beach, shop, chippy and a pub. Our family of 3 generations would definitely recommend a stay at Bettws y Gwynt.

Cosy and clean with good sized kitchen and new appliances, lovely wood stove and comfy beds. Unlike most places there wasn’t a cot, so you’ll need to bring your own. 2 minute drive down the road and all takeaways and a tesco for all you need. They provided lots of things like washing up stuff, fresh milk, towels and even chocolates and wine. Would definitely go again

Lovely, spotlessly clean, spacious accommodation with a warm welcome from the very helpful owners. The location was in a quiet spot but was conveniently close to all amenities. Would highly recommend this property and we will definately be staying again.

The cottage is for 8, we were 2 couples staying. Everything was clean. It was September but the weather turned very cold - the heating was efficient and kept us toasty warm. Having 2 separate living rooms was ideal if different members of your party like different temperatures. There was plenty of hot water, presumably instantaneous heater - as we were able to run 2 baths straight after each other. The beds are reasonably comfortable . They are all low, so ideal for children, less so if you are elderly. The duvets were warm - presumably 10 tog or thereabouts - we were travelling with our own duvets due to staying at another location the previous week, so didn't enquire whether lighter bedding might be available. The kitchen was well equipped, and the kitchen knives were sharp (which isn't always the case!) All the cupboards are at ground height which could be an issue if you have problems bending. Like many properties nowadays the living room furniture was mostly leather sofas. We usually find these uncomfortable (too deep and squishy and not supportive) but these were better than usual and reasonably comfortable. There were a couple of lamps giving extra reading light, although the main lighting was pretty good anyway. Although the property is right by the road we weren't bothered by road noise. There is plenty of parking, and the bike storage was both big enough for at least 4 bikes, and was properly secure. because of the weather we didn't sit in the garden, but it looked like it would be pleasant if the weather was warmer. There is a shop and a pub within a mile although I wouldn't walk there along the road as there is no pavement
