The living room, dining room and bedrooms were spot on as expected. The bathroom was a huge disappointment, for a 4 star cottage and a bathroom described as elegant I was not expecting mildew all round the bath, up the corner and round the sink. I appreciate that older properties have damp but it really distracted from the property. It'd also be helpful to warn people that the water pressure is low, therefore the shower is fine for a quick rinse post bath but forget trying to rinse your hair. The kitchen is indeed of tlc. The drawers felt like they would fall apart everytime you opened them, some of the cupboard doors need realigning. The beautiful wooden worktop has been neglected and is blackened with mould round the sink. While we were there the electrics in the kitchen tripped out. The notes left for the property clearly stated where the fuse box was, however, inorder to access it you need to pull the fridge out. This wasn't an issue for ourselves but others may struggle with the uneven slate floor trying to move a fridge freezer. Finally the extractor on the landing is horrendously noisey when it starts up in the wee hours. I've marked the cleanliness down only because of the mildew bathroom, dead flies on the window cills, shards of glass on the hearth and the hoover was ram packed with dust and dog hair, which I had to unclog before I could use it.

Had a wonderful stay at Blue House cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. Has everything you need, and a real attention to detail. Shame the garden area at the back is so small, but then you do have a fantastic green in front of the cottage. Pub does excellent food and brews it's own beer. Lots of lovely walks in the area, and plenty to see. Will definitely be returning. Thanks again.

Wonderful, clean comfortable cottage. Comfy bed, cozy lounge. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of extra touches. The outside area is a bit small at the back but didn’t detract from a great week.

Had a lovely stay in the Blue House Cottage, a home from home. Cosy, nothing you couldn't want for, even a variety of food and fresh eggs on arrival. Rooms are spacious and warm with great views of the village green. Will return.

What an amazing place. The cottage is gorgeous, the village is beautiful and it’s a fabulous place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday routine. There’s a huge amount of activities, walks and things to do within a reasonable drove away. Alternatively, you could spend the whole day in front of the open fire reading books and relaxing as we did. The Bird in Bush pub next door does outstanding foodand Alnwick Gardens is a must do visit. Worth a mention of its own is Barter Books and Buffet I’m Alnwick. A cavernous second hand book shop with an outstanding cafe and dog friendly too!

Best equipped cottage that I have stayed in. The rooms were deceptively large and the location was superb. The pub next door is undergoing an update in the kitchen so no food was available and it was open only Fri - Sun but it brews its own beer! Would recommend the cottage and location.
