Beautiful location. Close to amenities and walks from the door. Cosy cottage with everything you would need. Only problem was car park permit missing on arrival, so had to pay for parking all week which should have been included.

We spent a week at Bluebell Cottage recently and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The cottage is presented immaculately and it is clear that a considerable amount of time and effort has been spent in bringing it up to such a high specification. There is also a beautifully maintained private terrace garden where it is possible to sit out and admire the view. We found access to be challenging in the car (e.g. loading and unloading) but the owner had very kindly arranged for us to have a pass for the local public car park which is a couple of hundred yards down the track at the back of the cottage so this was not an issue during our stay. It is also possible to park at the Torver end of the lane although spaces are at a premium and there are often vehicles occupying them belonging to people renting some of the other cottages in the terrace. The location, with views across Coniston Water to Brantwood and Grizedale Forest is breathtaking and the cottage is located within easy walking distance from the village and all amenities. The local pubs offer standard but fortifying food at reasonable prices and booking is not generally required - apart, possibly, from the Yewdale Inn. We experienced some diverse weather conditions while we were there and found that, in order to dry off some of our gear we needed to utilise the central heating system which was very efficient once we had worked out the balance between the boiler and the thermostat in the front room. The bedding and towels were all beautifully clean and there wasn't a hint of dampness about the place even though it is evident that a lot of water drains under the cottages from the crags above. Bluebell Cottage is ideally situated for people wanting to take advantage of the many walks/hill climbs that are to be had in the vicinity (Coniston Old Man for example) but is equally well placed for those interested in cycling or water sports. I can recommend taking out temporary membership at Coniston Boating Club which is located next to Coniston Hall. This enables you to store a kayak, paddle board or other small craft beside the water instead of having to lug it to the car each time you want to venture out. We cannot recommend Bluebell Cottage highly enough and would definitely rent it again. Thank you for a memorable holiday!

A lovely cottage and garden with excuisite views. Struggled a bit with the parking arrangements when we first arrived but it didn't spoil our stay. Lovely walks nearby and good amenities a short distance away. A perfect place to get away from it all for a few days.

A lovely cosy base. We parked at the end of the terrace, location a little bit steep and winding but the driver soon mastered it! And totally worth it for the view.

A lovely home-from-home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and after a busy day out (what a great area), we could come back to a cosy home and recuperate.
