The location of the cottage one cannot fault affording views across the harbour. However the cleanliness was very questionable. The kitchen work surfaces needed a thorough clean and the cutlery draw was filthy with crumbs as was the toaster and the washing up brush provided was filthy. The carpets needed a good vacuum. There was no information folder available and it took a good while to work out how to switch the fire on as the pilot light needed igniting. One wall mounted light in the front bedroom was without a bulb and I had to locate a source to fit one and the door needs adjusting as it catches the carpet when opening or closing. The lack of bed side lamps proved inconvenient. The lock on the front door needs attention...a spot of WD-40 would work wonders! Overall the property needs attention as it was looking somewhat tired (fixtures & fittings)...a real shame as it has huge potential.

Lovely cottage in good location with brilliant views across the harbour. Nicely furnished, spacious and equipped with everything you need, I must mention the super hot water which when there are a few people all wanting showers at the same time was great. Only thing that let it down was the cleaning not dirty but very dusty! I would stay here again though

The cottage was quite hard to find - we hadn't expected to be ploughing through pedestrians in the car down a very narrow street - but we persevered and had a very enjoyable holiday. The location was excellent - the views on the website are from the front bedrooms. The kitchen worked well except for the curious absence of even one functional frying pan. Hot water and wifi are excellent. The top bedroom needs a velux blind over the skylight as there is no way of shutting out the light, and generally the bedroom curtains could be more lightproof.

It's a real shame because our holiday was spoilt.if you book make sure u tell them the party size...twice we had no towels provided for two of the guests. Real disappointment to be honest won't be stopping there again.

Lovely, cosy cottage with spectacular views. Ideal base for visiting the surrounding area. One day, my parents, who were staying with us, managed to lock us all out of the cottage. My husband rang the owner, who swiftly came within 10 minutes to let us back in, so we were very impressed.

Wonderful roomy cottage with excellent views, great location - driving up Church St can be hair-raising for the unwary - plenty of room for all. Super showers, more than enough bathrooms/loos for a large group. Parking space. Really can't fault it at all! Perfect for the Abbey, steps and access to the cliff path Usual access to beach currently unavailable but it's still easy to get to

Great location, but cottage is a bit tired and expensive for the quality of interior and facilities.

The cottage is set in a stunning location for views of the harbour entrance. The parking is at the back of the property and is challenging as it's best to reverse and we have a big car so when it's a single width road as well that could be a problem and while we were there they shut the road for around 14 hours. The kitchen accessories such as baking trays could be improved but the bathrooms were clean and everything worked. Whilst the view from upstairs gives uninterrupted views, from the lounge everyone walks past and looks in which is to be expected but not very private. I would definitely visit again as the shops, cafes and restaurants were all a short walk away and we only used the car once. As there was no visitors book I'll tell you that Eden camp in Pickering is worth a visit as well as the town which was the setting for heartbeat
