    > This truly magnificent famhouse is perched on the edge of the beautiful Manifold Valley, famed for its lime-stone crags and caves. Approached by a farm drive, nestling in a secluded spot, it enjoys breathtaking valley views. Very well furnished and equipped, its history is impressive - its date-stone pin-points the farmhouse’s origin at 1810, however, field name documents reach as far back as the 13th century. Set on the edge of the owners’ working farm, cows and calves herd themselves across over one hundred acres of farmland, with an abundance of wildlife and walks from the doorstep.

At Wetton Mill in the Manifold Valley amidst some staggering scenery, a cycle trail, closed to traffic for most of its route, follows the line of a narrow-gauge railway, (which ran from the turn of the century until the 1930s) and a river for some seven miles - even passing through the old railway tunnel. Cycle hire is available locally. Ideal for exploring Staffordshire and Derbyshire, Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Dovedale, Carsington Water, The Potteries and Alton Towers are all within a 25-minute drive. Butterton 1 mile. Butchers 1 mile. Shop 7 miles.

Amazing location helped by some superb September weather. A perfect cottage with everything we needed for a group of families with kids. Great spot for walking direct to the Manifold Cycle Trail/Thors Cave. The garden was like an "infinity" garden - with the end just blending into the beautiful valley across from the house.

A super week with all the family. Plenty of room for 12. We all just about fit round the dining table. The kids loved having a separate TV room (so did the adults). Games room was used by all. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were put to good use! Beautiful bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Two showers and three toilets were plenty (no queueing or waiting). We had a bbq one day with extra visitors as it was one of the children's birthday. There was plenty of outside space and outside seats for everyone. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Fantastic house, amazing views. 8 year old granddaughter loved every second of it. Village well worth a walk through, especially down to the Ford at the bottom of the hill. Locals love talking about their doubly thankful village. Best cottage yet!

The farmhouse was a brilliant place for a family get together and birthday celebration. There are beautiful views all around and only a short walk or drive to the Manifold Valley. The cottage had everything we needed and was very warm and comfortable. It was not too posh however so we didn't have to be constantly on at the boys, aged 3 to 11, to be careful all the time. They spent most of their time in the large garden or separate play room, with pool, table tennis and darts to hand. The local pub was either closed or had very strange opening times, but there's a good selection of pubs a short drive away. We had an excellent meal at the Reform Inn about a fifteen minute drive from the farmhouse. Great atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. All in all an excellent weekend with even the weather being kind to us.

6 adults, 3 children and 1 infant were superbly accommodated for a family weekend. Stunning scenery, cows peered over the garden wall every evening. Bedrooms were nicely furnished and the lounge very large giving us all space to spread out. The playroom was a bonus for the smaller children. One minor hiccup with the heating which was reassuringly dealt with promptly and efficiently. Found the downstairs toilet slightly damp, leaving the door open when unoccupied helped. Hard pushed to find better or more comfortable accommodation for a large party. Beautiful part of the country too. Would recommend a larger fridge.
