This first floor self-catering apartment is ideal for a couple who want to enjoy all that Glasgow - a City of Culture - and the surrounding area have to offer whilst staying in a charming historic property. The building is named after Peter Brough who was one of the wealthiest men in Paisley during the late 19th century and lived on this very site. Brough Hall was built after his death in Scottish Baronial style and was originally designated as a nurses home. This is carved above the front door from where the nurses ministered to the sick and pregnant of Paisley.\n\nToday there are five privately owned apartments. Flat Four is located on the first floor looking out over the front of the property. Oakshaw Street is quiet leafy and is a no through road. Inside the apartment there is an open plan living space with high ceilings and large windows. Everything leads off from the lounge the kitchen is tucked round the corner and is galley style and the dining area sits within the tower alcove. The bedroom has a wonderful large super kingsize bed.\n\nBrough Hall really does make a fantastic holiday location from where to access both city life and countryside locations across central and southern Scotland alike. The location was excellent. It's situated very close to the high St, main station and road networks. Bear in mind that this beautiful old hall sits atop quite a steep hill, in a conservation zone. And whatever direction you approach it from (on foot), is steep. But good cardio! The apartment has most things you need and is comfortable and clean. I think it needs a new shower and for some of the kitchen cupboards to be decluttered, but that's relatively minor. I marked the overall rating as an eight, but it would be a high eight , so I feel slightly mean. I would definitely recommend the apartment, as it was excellent value for money and very well located in an underrated historic town.

Great little flat, just a few minutes from the station. Lots of glasses crockery and all that you need to self cater. We had a great week here using it as a base to explore that part of Scotland.

Good, clean apartment in a former nurses home. Spacious with good wifi. Let down by v uncomfortable sofas (worn down fixed cushions) and tired mattress. Why 24+ plates yet just 2 wine glasses? - kitchen equipment needs a good sort out and hot tap v 'squirty': otherwise it's fine. Steep hill to Paisley town centre: would hamper less mobile though. Great location for touring west coast, Trossachs and Glasgow itself from nearby Gilmour St station.

Ideally situated Classy Place to explore both Glasgow ( Gilmoure Street station in walking distance) and west Scotland. The nearby Observatory and Paisley museum are probabiliteit both worth A visit but unfortunately closed due to renovations

Lovely flat in a quiet secluded street, yet close to the town centre. Surrounded by some beautiful buildings. Very handy for transport links to Glasgow and the Clyde coast
