Cae Ocyn (Ki Okin) is a 17th century granite built Welsh Farm House, with characteristically old features in the south of Anglesey on the B4421 at Llangaffo, 3½ miles from Gaerwen on the A5 and 5 miles from the A55 Holyhead - Bangor - Chester motorway. Accommodation is for 6 people and children are welcome. It lies at the end of a ¼ mile single track downwards sloping tarmac lane (the last 200 yards after the cattle grid being unmade) amidst grassland sheep fields, surrounded by oak, chestnut and hazel trees and having views across the valley of the river Cefni river. The car park turning circle has ample room for 4 cars. Backed by granite rock the house is in a very quiet and peaceful location and microclimate. On arrival, the smell of sheep or silage may occasionally be evident but, as the cottage is ’no smoking’ and ’no pets’ and solid fuel stove, fireplace and Aga are not in use, there should be no unpleasant odours inside the cottage. It is a perfect location for summer beach holidays and relaxing winter escapes. Wildlife abounds all around the cottage with frequent visitors to the garden being red squirrels, tawny and barn owls and great spotted woodpeckers.
Cae Ocyn lies close to glorious sandy beaches and many interesting family visitor attractions, including Anglesey’s Sea Zoo, Plas Newydd, Beaumaris with its castle, Victorian courthouse and jail, a butterfly farm and there are even opportunities to spot puffins or enjoy a spot of sea fishing. Superb coastal walking, golf and horse riding can all be found close by. The Snowdonia National Park with its numerous outdoor activities and stunning mountain scenery is within easy reach.

We had a fantastic stay. We travelled with our 3 young children, who loved playing hide and seek in the cottage. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, lots of room for us and the children. It is in a very tranquil location and we all enjoyed exploring. My only 2 criticisms would be, more toilet roll upon arrival, as there was only a small amount on a roll and hand soaps would have been appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Thank you

Our second visit to Cae Ocyn was as enjoyable as the first. If you want a quiet getaway it is perfect. It is in a very sheltered spot and the garden at the back is a real sun trap. The house is comfortable and very spacious. Looking forward to visiting again.

Had a lovely chilled holiday and will go back again. Definitely a holiday home to unwind. There was 2 little things that need attention, the patio door didn’t lock and bird box could do with being moved off outside wall of master bedroom as birds wake you up early in the morning. Other than that would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful week at Cae Ocyn. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. The televison was new with good reception and built in dvd. The garden and surroundings were amazing with plenty of wildlife. Red squirels were outside the kitchen window everyday and for bird lovers Jays were seen every day too. Our grand children enjoyed exploring the garden and woodland and the table tennis was a big hit. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

We stayed here 14th - 17th August and had a great stay. The cottage is beautiful, the beds were really comfortable. The TV had brilliant signal and the selection of games was fantastic. The shower was powerful and warm. The only thing I will say is at night time the cottage is spooky outside. Oh the games was fabulous, we had some fantastic evenings.
