    This spacious holiday cottage, which adjoins the owner’s property, is accessed through its own separate entrance and lobby area, and is located in the quiet village of Balfron. Situated in very private grounds along a quiet lane, it has uninterrupted views of the Campsie and Fintry Hills.
    Located on the edge of Scotland’s first National Park and with Loch Lomond and the majesty of Ben Lomond close by the area is staggeringly beautiful. A huge variety of outdoor activities are on offer including scenic walks for all abilities; golf with a number of top class venues within easy travelling distance, and fishing. Loch Lomond offers a wide range of water sports to suit all ages including sailing, canoeing and water skiing.
    The historic city of Stirling, with its castle, battlefields and monuments, is half an hour’s drive away; Glasgow, the city of culture and entertainment can be reached within the hour and Edinburgh in 90 minutes drive.
    It should be noted that Balfron is a well serviced village with local shops and amenities including a health centre, dental practice and library.

    We really enjoyed staying at Caplrig Cottage. Perfect cottage for two and very comfortable. Owner was lovely and very welcoming.

    Super cottage - I loved it. Very comfortable and spacious. The owners take good care of the accommodation and the gardens are well kept. Plenty of interest to do in the local area.

    This is the BEST, cottage we have ever stayed in. Stayed there for a week, 1:6:19 - 8:6:19. So happy with our choice of cottage. It was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed and more. First class bedding and towels. All the extras that Jeanette had provided were a lovely treat. The cottage was well maintained and lovely and clean.

    The cottage owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is situated up a short track (a couple of hundred yards from the end of the street) and has its own gated entrance and parking space at the back of the property. The views of the hills (Campsies?) from the back of the cottage are beautiful. You enter the cottage through your own private entrance at the back so you don't disturb the owners. The gardens are beautiful and well manicured. We saw rabbits, pheasants and lots of lovely birds on the bird feeders (binoculars were provided too!). Inside the cottage, the décor and facilities are excellent. Everything you can think of is provided from a coffee machine and coffee pods to plenty of towels and toilet rolls. The cottage is very comfortable and warm (you can control the heating yourself using a hive heating control). The décor is excellent and it is well furnished with quality furniture and bedding. The local facilities in Balfron are ok, there is a small Co-op, Post Office, pub, bakers, doctors and petrol station. We had arranged a Tesco delivery to the cottage so only used the Co-op a couple of times. We found the cottage to be very handy for what we wanted to visit. Stirling was only 20 miles away, Drymen 8 miles and Glasgow about 20 miles. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are within 20-30 minutes drive. We would definitely stay here again and can honestly say we think it is one of the best, if not the best, cottage we have stayed in.

    Fantastic stay. Everything you could want. Very clean beautifuly done . Garden space wonderful. So quiet and peaceful. Owners are lovely leave you to enjoy. Above and beyond. I would recommend to all.

    A beautiful cottage, so well presented. The owner went well beyond what she needed to do to provide us with a wonderful holiday. Coffee, bread and chocolates were supplied along with fresh flowers and she even went as far as leaving a set of binoculars in the property so that we could enjoy the birds in the garden! Everything we could want was there!
