Nice and comfy cottage in a quiet part of Northumbria. Centrally located for visiting other areas with both Newcastle and Carlisle both being around 30miles away. Not far from Hexham and Corbridge which are both well worth a visit.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Chesterwood Bastle. We found the cottage clean and warm on our arrival, with a home made welcome cake waiting for us. It is very rural, but perfectly located for exploring the beautiful northumberland countryside. The owner, whilst friendly, leaves you to enjoy your holiday in private. We have one very small suggestion, and some will think this irrelevant, but please could you supply some coathangers for the wardrobe? There were only 5, of various shapes, none of which were functional!! That said, we had a lovely stay and will certainly return. Many thanks to our hosts.

I had a lovely time at Chesterwood Bastle. The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely spot for getting out and exploring Hadrian's Wall Country and further afield. Plenty of amenities in nearby Haydon Bridge and a little further out to Hexham. The beautiful lemon cake was a lovely touch - my compliments to the baker! :)
