Please note No children.\nSituated within a converted Georgian building this first floor city apartment enjoys high ceilings and contemporary furnishings. It is perfectly placed for exploring York being just a few minutes’ walk from Bootham Bar the medieval gateway leading to the spectacular minster. The Theatre Royal and Yorkshire Museum and gardens are close by and the Treasurer’s house Merchant Adventurer’s Hall castle and railway museums are all within walking distance. Enjoy a river boat trip walk the city walls and meander along the cobbled streets and Shambles with its overhanging timber-framed buildings. There are numerous real ale inns traditional tea shops and a vast variety of restaurants and wine bars to suit all tastes.     Holiday spoilt by building work commencing at 630 every morning, resulting in no privacy as scaffolding right outside living room, kitchen and bedroom. Bathroom smelled of dampness. Rubbish left under the bed by previous guests. All above reported to owner. Disappointing accommodation, which could benefit from a bit of time and effort to bring it up to standard expected by us.

    I down-scale the 'Equipment' vote only because, although there is a washing-machine, there is no facility to get your washing dry. But this is a trivial complaint when you consider the location and convenience of this flat - in the centre of York with the Minster just one minute away, and a handy supermarket seconds away in the other direction. I doubt you do better on 'Location' and 'Amenities'. If ariving by train, as I did, bus routes 1 and 5 from the station stop nearby. I hope to return before very long.
