All enjoyed the pool in particular.

Great start a box of biscuits, fresh flowers and two bottles of wine. The barn was very clean and well equipped. The pool was a resounding success with both adults and children. While there we visited Ickworth, Lavenham, Sutton Hoo and West stow Anglo-Saxon village. The barn was a great place to celebrate a 70th birthday with the whole family six adults and three children.

Fabulous family weekend in an amazing barn conversion. We really enjoyed the pool and garden. We were fortunate to have brilliant weather all weekend. Highly recommended.

As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clamp farm. The scores would have been 10s but for a couple of issues. The 2 rooms above the swimming pool caused us a problem, because you have to go through bedroom 1 to reach the second bedroom. The showers in the main house were not great to the extent that family members were using the shower in the swimming pool room rather than those in the bathrooms of the main house. Another small point but one that really annoyed my wife; a lack of dressing tables/mirrors in the bedrooms.

We spent a week at Clamp Farm Barn in August 2019. Let’s start with the positives: for a family, the accommodation was spacious and clean. Great sized rooms, comfortable beds and furniture, a large eat-in kitchen and a well maintained and spacious garden area. The owners were helpful and friendly. The pool was superb, with a comfortable and constant warm temperature and is big enough to accommodate quite a few swimmers. Negatives: The barn adjoins at least two other properties which are occupied, one by the owners themselves. This is not a bad thing in of itself, but one should not expect an oasis of total privacy in these circumstances. Indeed, the windows of the barn are many and large and given the neighbours can be around outside, it can make one feel a lack of privacy. The worst aspect about our experience involved the barking dogs that live with the owners and their other neighbours. Virtually every time we stepped out of the property, the dogs barked loudly at us which was disconcerting and disturbing when the children were trying to get to sleep. Similarly, in the morning if one of our party stepped outside everyone else was woken up by the dogs barking. In addition, rubbish bags have to be taken to a skip outside another adjoining property near to where more dogs are kept so more loud dogs barking at us every time we went to put out the rubbish. Other minor issues included: the beautiful countryside setting is somewhat spoiled by a large factory building and train line nearby. The train is quite loud too. Sky TV didn’t work in the bedroom and we couldn’t get the DVD player to work. Two of the bedrooms let a lot of light in so be aware if you are used to sleeping in a dark room. The fantastic swimming pool was not the cleanest I’ve ever experienced, but fine.

We had a great week at Clamp Farm. The pool was excellent and the main reason we chose this location. Quirky layout with the mezzanine and the rooms above the pool in the annexe, but these just lead to better games of hide and seek! The owner lives on site and was friendly and helpful. Just two suggestions : We originally expected 10 people to come but only 8 made it. This was just as well because you have to go through one bedroom in the annexe to get to the other. This wouldn't have worked for us and should have been explained. Also, we use showers rather than baths and there's only one built-in shower in the main building - in the ensuite. An extra shower would be great! Otherwise, an enjoyable holiday. Thanks very much!
