Relaxing winter weekend away at this lovely cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, spotlessly clean, bed very comfy and loved the wood burning stove. Next door to a lovely pub/restaurant where we ate both nights. Would highly recommend.

Great wee place to stay and very welcoming. Thank you for everything. Small suggestion, maybe a broom to sweep stone floors (or did I miss it?).

We really enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated the many little extras - the welcoming pack, the DVDs, the books, and the games. It was extremely cosy and meant we had a very relaxing break.

Clarence Cottage is a beautifully decorated and so lovely and clean. An ideal place to unwind. Pub next door is fabulous for meals and so friendly. Expected noise from the pub but heard nothing. Cottage very well equipped. Can't fault this gorgeous little cottage and it's location. We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely walk into Appleton and along the river.

Had a lovely week in this beautiful cosy cottage. Everything has been well thought out it was a great place to return to at the end of a day out and with the pub next door we couldn’t ask for anything better. Hoping to return soon

2nd visit to this lovely cottage. Well equipped and an excellent location for exploring all the area has to offer. Welcome pack is a great touch. Theres a local shop down the road and a pub a stone's throw away from the front door with great food.

I enjoyed my stay at Clarence Cottage! The cottage itself was well-appointed, perfectly comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed. I happened to have some excellent weather so I enjoyed my coffee in the garden most mornings (and very rarely saw anyone using the pub garden so it felt very private). Appleby itself had lots to offer, including some lovely walks I could do right from the front door of Clarence Cottage. It was also well-located for day trips into the Lake District and up to Hadrian's Wall. Finding parking on the street was never an issue, and communication with the hosts was smooth and quick. I would recommend this place as a nice home base for those looking for a quiet retreat with the added bonus of amenities close at hand.

Excellent cottage holiday, well equipped cottage for a weekend break

A great location. The only downside of it was the parking could be a bit difficult outside as next door to a pub (which was handy).
