Warm and cosy this cottage makes an excellent base from which to tour the northern lakes Northumberland and Scotland. Watch the steam trains pass by at the bottom of the field on the SettleCarlisle Railway. There are lovely walks in the area. Historic Carlisle with its superb shopping centre is 4 miles Brampton and the World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall and Gretna Green are both 9 miles.     Super cottage, quiet, warm, comfortable, well-equipped, lovely landlady, plenty of good comments in the visitors book. Dog was welcome and the garden dog-proof as long as the gate is properly closed! Good location for touring the north-west of our beautiful country.

    I spent 4 weeks in this cottage while working locally. The owner personally welcomed me and I was very comfortable the whole time. The kitchen is well equipped with a useful utility room. It is situated just outside a lovely village in a very quiet spot. With Carlisle 15 minutes away and easy access to the M6 it is ideally situated for a good holiday. If I need to stay in the area again or for a holiday I would definitely book again.

    We had a really relaxing week. Lots of lovely walks and even though motorway and railway nearby it still felt we were miles from anywhere

    Beautifully quiet, edge of village location with pleasant walks right on the doorstep. The Coach House is comfortable and clean with plenty of character and space. Lots to do nearby with excellent walks, museum, castle and cathedral that that all deserve a visit. Had very relaxing break and would thoroughly recommend.

    Lovely owners. Very clean and brilliant location. We all enjoyed meeting the neighbours especially our dog Digger.

    Friendly owners who couldn’t do enough. Lovely setting with plenty of garden to use. Everything you need. Only faults were location. You need a car to go anywhere. Maybe a little modernisation is needed although house was clean and spacious. I enjoyed my stay just was a bit let down by local area and lack of any close shops, pub. There are local amenities but you need to drive.

    Comfortable, characterful, peaceful. Lovely owners. Great location (Hadrian's wall, little villages, walks by the river Eden, decent pubs). OK we had a heatwave and you can't book that, but really it's a cracker.
