A very smartly decorated cottage overlooking the seafront. Great location but yet easy to park on the street nearby. Lots of lovely treats left for us on arrival. The cottage is more spacious than appears in the pictures.

Stayed here for a four night break, the house is in a great location a short walk to the marina and down quite a few steps to get onto the dog friendly beach, opposite the house. We parked the car outside the front of the house, which is free, and did not really need to use it as lovely walks directly from the house. The house was lovely and clean and had everything we needed, though we did struggle a bit to work out how to use the microwave/oven combination. The stairs to the bedroom are steep and windy, we managed them ok but may have been a problem had we bought our elderly parents. We found the double bed very soft and the frame was creaky which was a shame because the room itself was lovely with excellent views. The lounge had great views, we did move the table to Infront of the window so we could sit and look out, as the windows are high so there are no views if you are sitting on the sofa. The outside space was great for our dog, it is communal but fully enclosed so I was able to let our dog have a wander around, no-one else was using the area accept for another family of holiday makers with a dog. The area just outside the door was overgrown so unable to place our chairs there, it would have been nice if there had been a bench or table and chairs in that area like some of the other cottages. We had a nice relaxing break and would stay in the house again if ever we are in the area.
Great location, we walked everywhere over the 2 1/2 days. Lovely place to stay, excellent welcome pack, clean and tidy. Everything was there that we needed.

We had a fantastic mid-week break at Coastguard Retreat. The cottage has all the amenities you need, is decorated to a high quality and was plenty big enough for our family of 4 + 1 dog. The location is right next to the promenade which has steps down to the beach. Fantastic walks in all directions. Highly recommended.
Great cottage. Lovely location near the beach.
Only down side was the majority of pubs don’t take dogs and stop serving food at seven on a Saturday night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Coastguard Retreat - Steve and Shelley have done a wonderful job refurbishing this characterful and cosy cottage. We arrived after dark in a howling and bitter January wind, but the heating was on and there was wine waiting for us along with eggs, butter, milk, bread, tea, coffee and biscuits - so welcoming.
The accommodation was clean and well-planned, lovely to have plenty of fluffy towels provided and comfortable beds and bedding. Waking up to the beautiful sunrise streaming through the windows was stunning, and the kitchen was gorgeous - great oven, coffee machine and pods supplied. Fabulous Le Creuset china, all very well thought through. We loved the Alexa provided (with free WiFi) and loads of games too. Two nights was not enough!
The only slight disappointment was, having been looking forward to a roaring fire (as in the pictures), it was not made up and there was nothing in the house to make one - the fire companion set was in a cupboard, so it looked as though fires were not really encouraged. It was too late really to go out in search of the eco-logs that the Welcome Pack said were the only things permitted to burn. Overall a minor issue, but a real fire would have been the icing on the cake to a truly top-notch property.
Beautiful well equipped cottage. Lovely decor - very tastefully done. We had a lovely comfortable stay. Extra touches like milk, butter, eggs, loaf of bread and a bottle of wine were very welcome!
The sea views and sunrises just added to our stay. Cannot rate it highly enough. Thank you Steve and Shelley!
We enjoyed coastguard retreat the only problem we found was that the bathroom was downstairs. It was so nice to look out on the sea but we could have done with a small garden for the dog overall it was a very enjoyable holiday.
Lovely cottage to stay in, for us an enclosed garden would make it perfect, however, we were aware of that in the write up. Very welcoming, lovely welcome pack, all mod cons and more.
Very lovely cottage we loved the special little touches that was left for us and it was much appreciated we would definitely recommend and book this cottage again X?
A great cottage in an excellent location with everything that's required for an enjoyable stay. The hosts have done a great job of making guests feel welcome from the moment you set foot in the cottage.
The house is well equipped and is very comfortable. The sea view is spectacular. The cottages are a few minutes walk from the beach and the centre of town. A walk in the other direction along the seafront will take you to Broadstairs.
