This upside down, duplex apartment has been thoughtfully developed with guests in mind. Located within the seaside town of Whitby, there is an en-suite kingsize bedroom, complete with a modern shower cubicle on the ground floor, and an open plan living space on the first floor. It is bright and beautifully decorated, and boasts a private parking space which is a real bonus in Whitby. Located only 100 yards from the beach, it is just a stroll along the seafront from all the bars, restaurants and amenities that this bustling town has to offer.
Whitby is famous for its links to Dracula, and the Gothic abbey and the graveyard tower 199 steps above the town. The climb is worth the effort just to take in the fantastic views of the town and out to sea. Many events and festivals take place all year round such as the Goth Weekender, Folk Week, Whitby Regatta, which is hosting the red arrows for 2018, Steampunk festivals and many music events. There are plenty of traditional pubs to complement the wine bars, as well as many different bistros and restaurants to choose from, not forgetting award-winning fish and chips.
There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sand complete with ice cream parlours and donkey rides to enjoy, and a long pier to walk down, but if you want to get off the beaten track there are many coves and bays dotted along the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast to explore. Hidden gems such as Runswick Bay and Boggle Hole along with the more famous such Robin Hood’s Bay are worth a visit. There are many local walks in the area including the Cleveland Way route, and the Cinder Track across the viaduct which heads down to Robin Hood’s Bay. Head inland into the North York Moors National Park for stunning scenery and fabulous views. Local bus, car, bike or even a journey on a traditional steam train are other ways to get out and see what the area has to offer.
The Victorian seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its two huge bays; North Bay for a quiet stroll watching the waves, or South Bay for amusement arcades, a fairground and a harbour. The Open Air Theatre plays host to many international artists throughout the summer months, and Peasholm Park hosts its Model Naval War on a regular basis. There are a number of golf courses, cycling tracks and country or beach walks in the local area. If history is your thing, there are many abbeys and historic places of interest throughout North Yorkshire including the Eden War Museum in Pickering. The walled city of York is just an hour’s drive away. Beach 100 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Fantastic little place with the bonus of private parking. We didn't use the car all week! We had an amazing time with great weather too. Copper Coins was a lovely comfortable base for us and brilliantly appointed with great use of space. The promenade is a stone's throw from the cottage and makes a wonderful morning dog walk. Remember to pack your comfy shoes as you can certainly clock up some steps round Whitby! Great, comfortable little cottage and we were sad to leave.

I found Copper Coins to be very comfortable with furnishings to a high standard. It was an easy walk into Whitby and to the beach. It pretty much has everything you need - although a clock radio would be a great addition. I spent a very nice week their with my little dog Henry. The advantage of car parking is very good; one of my reasons for choosing Copper Coins, although I was unlucky enough to be there when they were resurfacing the road outside. This caused me a bit of worry whether I'd be able to get my car in and out - I did feel the owner could have been a bit more helpful letting me know if I needed to move my car etc. When I asked he told me to ask the workers! Luckily they were very helpful and moved the lorries and bollards in a timely manner so I could get out. It did mean on a couple of days I felt the need to go out earlier and come back later.
