The Market town of Cockermouth is just 3 miles away with a good range of shops and farmers’ market while Keswick is only 8 miles away and is also renowned for its spectacular setting and a host of excellent restaurants and tea rooms as well as an abundance of outdoor clothing shops. A ‘must’ is a visit to Go Ape at Whinlatter Visitor Centre a forest adventure with ropes zip wires and nets high up in the forest canopy. Fishing can be found nearby.     House badly needs some TLC - starting at the access door which really needs replaced. Panel radiators in the upstairs bedrooms weren't working. Kitchen was tiny and very awkward There seemed to be a lot of trailing wires in the downstairs bedroom. Kindling and fire stuff inadequate - coal in outside bunker was wet. On the plus side main bathroom was good and house could be kept warm enough. Dedicated parking space very handy in the village setting.

    Homely and comfortable cottage in the perfect location for exploring the lakes a wonderful walks. Would definitely recommend.

    The cottage was wonderful, and a lovely welcome pack. Nothing in the area but a small shop, but only 4 miles to supermarket. Wonderful walks and the area is beautiful so is the village. I would recommend this cottage.

    A lovely house with everything we could have wished for and more. The welcome gifts were really appreciated, a lovely thought. We had great fun as a family in the evening playing the various games. A lovely holiday making great memories.

    Very lovely homely place. Everything you need for home from home. Wonderful to be able to bring our dogs. We were very impressed and delighted by welcome goodies - would highly recommend
