Lovely cottage, very spacious. Wonderfully quiet, and great location (just a short walk from Hawes).

We were very happy with Cottontail Cottage: it is quiet, has good views, and is very well located just outside Hawes, which is a good central point to visit the upper dales. The cottage itself is well equipped, has an attractive interior (we liked the old stone shelves and the fireplace) and plenty space for four people. There are however a few areas where the owner/manager could pay further attention: we notified him that the drain in the shower was blocked - but he did nothing about it (fortunately, there is also a bathtub with a shower attachment). The WiFi code was incorrect but he only provided the correct code after three days - because it appears he was not in the area during the first couple of days we were there. While main areas of the cottage were clean, the windows did not appear to have been washed for a long time and there were cobwebs in some corners. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would recommend it - but with the caveat that we got the impression, rightly or wrongly, that if a problem arose, it might not be attended to very swiftly.

We had a wonderfully relaxing week at Cottontail Cottage which was beautifully presented and really well equipped. It’s ideally located for a peaceful holiday in the countryside yet was within a few minutes walk of everything we needed. All our round walks started from the cottage so in 6 days we only used the car once. Waking up to the sound of lambs each day was fantastic and something we definitely want to repeat!

Great place to stay. Stunning both inside and out. Communication pre arrival was poor- we texted and called, and no-one replied Also, very minor point, no tea, coffee, milk on arrival. And we’d left a message stating we’d be arriving at midnight.

It would have been helpful to have instructions on the electric hob and cooker - these things are never obvious to everyone.

Another year another lovely stay at cottontail cottage. As always welcomed to a clean and well maintained cottage just outside the lovey town of Hawes. We had a wonderful week and we’re sorry to leave as always but will be back again next year.

This was a stunningly beautiful old farmhouse with delightful period furnishings. To open the front door straight onto a green field full of sheep was a daily joy, and it was wonderfully quiet, and dark at night. Everything worked perfectly and the kitchen equipment was of a particularly high standard. The beds were very comfortable too.
