Excellent walks start from the door, with the Pennine Way passing close by. Hardraw Force (England’s highest unbroken waterfall) along with Aysgarth Falls is nearby or enjoy a leisurely drive across the "Buttertubs Pass" into beautiful Swaledale. Hawes has a good choice of shops, pubs, tea rooms, bistro, Ropemakers Centre along with the famous Wensleydale Creamery and Visitor Centre.
