Loved the house,Colin and Tina couldn’t have been more helpful. Cottage very dog friendly. Had lovely walks in the forest with the dogs and were thrilled to see a family of wild boars.

When booking over the telephone we advised that we would be bringing 2 dogs, when we arrived at the property we were told that dogs were not to be left unattended inside the property so why wasn't this communicated to us at the time of booking. On arrival we had to ask for the hot tub water to be changed as when we arrived it was a really cloudy colour and not clear as it should be when changed. Also I think the owners need to invest in some polish and dusters as you could right your name in the blinds in the living room. All in all VERY disappointed with the property wish now we had put the money towards a holiday abroad instead

Very lovely converted barn with comfy double bedroom and spacious second bedroom with two single beds for kids. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Nice clean bathroom and kitchen with modern facilities. Spacious living space and outside eating areas (one shared with adjoining 2 bed property. The hot tub was a nice addition. Good location for visiting beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Nice pubs and local shop close by and lots to do for families or just great walks in the Forest and Wye Valley. Owners very friendly and helpful. We would stay again. Only downside which might or might not bother you is it is located quite close to busy B road and you can hear a bit of traffic noise if you like to sleep with windows open at night. We are used to quiet but found it was ok.

Absolutely brilliant! Had a great time with our dog on his first ‘holiday’ lots of places to go in the Forest of Dean. The owner couldn’t be more helpful, gave us plenty of suggestions of places we could take the dog. The hot tub was a very nice added bonus, luckily we didn’t have to share it but a great system if someone else was there! The pictures honestly do not do this property justice! Less than a 5 minute drive to a small town with lots of places to eat and a supermarket

What can I say, the entire experience was brilliant. It was really easy to book on the phone, as we were taking 2 (very well behaved) dogs with us we opted for the additional insurance which was a peace of mind although there were no issues. On arrival the welcome was a warm one, everything was laid out including instructions for the appliances, booking process for the hot tub etc. We did a Tesco shop which was delivered by 2 lovely gentleman as well! a lot of the essentials are there for you; toilet rolls, tea/ coffee/ sugar, milk, cooking oil, salt/vinegar, cleaning products, shampoo/ conditioner/ hand wash etc. etc. everything was really well thought of and the kitchen was really well equipped for our full breakfasts! Shop, pub, Chinese were all a really short pavement walk away and the pub is also pet friendly. The Chinese was good, but we tried the one in Lydney which was much better- delivery was fully booked so we went to collect it; the gentleman working in there was really helpful and friendly. The fields opposite the cottage are good for letting the dogs have a run about as well (advised by the dog food store next door to use these) Overall we had a brilliant and relaxing stay and if we were to want to return to the area we wouldn't think twice about booking the granary- thank you.

Before reading this you need to know I have OCD so my standards are stupidly high. Also note I WOULD stay here again. I've rated cleanliness a 5 as I feel the cups, glasses etc were not up to standard. In fact the first thing I did was give them all a good scrub and even my sister who isn't as fastidious as me noted the glasses being dirty. I feel the crockery could do with being renewed as some were chipped. There were part used leftovers from previous visitors in the cupboard (salt, flour, soy sauce etc) which I found odd and the fridge will freeze whatever goes on the top shelf. Aside from this the Granary was very clean. Linens were fresh as a daisy and having a washing machine and cleaning products helped tremendously. Comfort is marked down due to the single beds. The sides are wooden and as high as the (very soft) matresses so they hurt to sit down on and are hard to get in and out of. Also as they are wood (very pretty) they creak when you so much as breath heavily. Luckily the master bedroom has a different style bed with firmer matress so it's just the two singles. The master bedroom doesn't have a wardrobe or draws. It has a lovely wall of windows but is a tad too small for more furniture so my mum had to share the wardrobe and draws in the second bedroom. It did have a stand for clothing which would be fine for overnight but doesn't quiet cut it for a week. All that being said I really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for getting out and about. We managed to go to Cheltenham, Monmouth, Bath, Symonds Yat, Bourton-on-the-Water and had a wander around Lydney and the Taurus craft centre. Aside from driving up and down the road to find Court Farm for a while (my own fault for not calling for more exact directions - I'm positive Colin would have been more than accommodating if I had) it was easy to access with plenty of parking. The hot tub was lush and we found it easy to book times (a chalkboard on the door for you name and time so no faffing around). The solar lights around didn't come on at night so take the handy torch from the coat rack and don't forget your dressing gown like I did! It is big enough for 4 and toasty. Colin was there to greet and kindly provided a second key so my sister and I could split up if needed. Just a text away but not intrusive of our stay which was great. If you want somewhere on the boarders with a little something extra (the hot tub) and like me prefer to self cater this is a great choice.

Lovely stay at The Granary, a perfect base for exploring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Owners very welcoming and helpful, cottage nicely kept and worked well with a toddler roaming about! Only complaint, the mattresses could do with replacing as they are well past their best. Other than that, would definitely return to Bream and the Court Farm cottages.
