This property forms part of the old Drill Hall dating back to the 1700’s when it was originally a Distillery which operated for almost 200 years. Eventually the building became the home of the Black Watch regiment and hence the name of the apartment today. This self catering accommodation is very high tech with professionally designed zoned lighting system and a full multi room audio system so you can be relaxing in the bath with your own choice of music while other family members listen to something completely different in the bedrooms. In addition to this within the large open plan living area there is a full 7.1 Audio Visual Home Cinema Experience with perfectly placed speakers located in the ceiling. All of these systems can be controlled through a small hand held device The apartment is located slightly away from the main shopping street and it is not far to walk down to the River Earn which offers great walks and fishing. A short stroll up to the town centre provides a wonderful selection of excellent pubs restaurants cafes and interesting local shops to meander through. The local town square is a great spot to sit relax and watch the world go by. Up the hill Crieff Hydro Hotel offers leisure facilities with luxury swimming pools spa treatments numerous outdoor activities and golf. A lovely base for the weekend away we had planned. Part of the plan was to cook in one night and watch a film on this amazing home cinema system and sound system. We couldnt find any instructions for the tv system as there was about 4 remotes and was advised the evening we arrived that the sound system was broken and needed a part which wasnt come until the following week. Kitchen was well equipped, we arent the tallest of families and found the curve on the kitchen worktop, whilst it looked great, made washing up and cooking a little difficult on the old 'glass backs'. The ensuite could benefit from a shelf for toiletries as there isnt anywhere suitable to put things other then the floor. The lack of parking wasnt an issues as there was plenty spots around the property to park, being able to load and unload was good. You can hear the above neighbours and their dogs. We visited the Glen Turret Distillery which was simply brilliant, best distillery tour we've done. We ate at the French restaurant Yanns and it was AMAZING, we also ate at the Italian which is in the old bank building, i forget its name. We visited the Pitlochry damn which was fascinating and also braved the House of Bruar - well worth a visit just for the wonder at the prices! the drive to Pitclochry was amazing and stunning views, we came back along Loch Tay and Loch Earn and it was a breathtaking drive. The good weather helped.
