Beautiful cottage in the perfect place. The view from the window meant we never wanted to leave. Fell running and walks from the front door including Blencathra, Skiddaw and Helvellyn range. Would love to return.

We had a fantastic holiday. One could not ask for a more spectacular view from the garden. There are lots of walks in the area - great for car free days. Honiston and Kirkstone passes are absolutely stunning. The only thing I would suggest is replacing freezer with a washing machine. I would happily come back to Cropple Howe tomorrow.

This was a comfortable cottage-only downside was the very cold shower room. Views were fantastic and the garden was great for the dogs. Cottage was very clean and had all amenities.

We were at the cottage from 5th-12th April 2019. Everything was fine except for the freezing cold hall/entrance area (which impacted on the downstairs bathroom). For the benefit of all who use the cottage in the colder months, the front door needs to be sealed off and insulated to prevent the arctic gales from sweeping in and, in addition, some form of heating in this area would solve the problem.

Comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with a stunning view to the south. The access road can be tricky in icy conditions. Facilities in Threlkeld are limited, but it's nice to stay in a village which isn't too tourist-y. And Keswick is only ten minutes away.

We always love returning to Cropple How, it feels like returning home. Beautiful surroundings really relaxed with two great pubs in the village. Fantastic walking from the doorstep what more could you want. The cottage is well equipped with pretty much everything you could possibly need. Stunning views from the windows inside the cottage or short drive to Keswick with all the shops and fantastic pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely cottage, excellent view. Left car and used reliable bus service through village - to Keswick, Whitehaven, Penrith, Windermere and Kendal. Lovely walks in area, also to Keswick and Castlerigg Stone Circle. Will visit again.
