The most scenic setting for any cottage we've rented. The local amenities I scored were the best barrow for transporting your holiday essentials from car park to cottage and the bench outside to take in the stunning view . Cottage well equipped ,thoroughly enjoyed the log burner on the cooler, wetter days we had. Emma a very helpful owner.

Perfect location - in our view the relative lack of amenties is a positive! The cottage has bags of character and stunning views over the bay - we even watched dolphins crossing the bay a few moments after we arrived. Emma was a wondeful host and kept in touch during the week - although we had no issues, I'm sure they would have been sorted straight away. Would definitely recommend the cottage if you want a shore-side location within easy reach of beautiful coast.

This is an outstanding place. Crovie is a small & unique village, nestled under the cliffs on the Aberdeenshire coast. Parking your car at the end of your village, you transport your goods and chattels to the house with the aid of your own personal wheelbarrow being gradually transported back to the 19th century as you go. The single path leads along the single row of houses, past the harbour to the house which is near the end of the village. The view from your front door is spectacular, out over the ocean as far as the eye can see. There are otters and seals, and while we didn't see any, comments in the visitors book spoke of dolphin and whale sightings for those happy to sit and stare. Inside the house is a cosy Tardis, with kitchen and dining room, a comfortable living room, with box bed, bathroom downstairs and two good size rooms upstairs. The front room has a new(wish) log burner which warms the room quickly, and there's an open fire in the dining room. clean and comfortable, the bathroom has shower and bath, while the kitchen has pretty much everything you need for everything from an omelette to a roast lunch Outside, there is a bench at the front overlooking the sea, while to the rear is a shed with a plentiful supply of logs and coal, available for sale at very reasonable cost. There is also a split level garden, with seating. The owner is an absolute pleasure to deal with, and quick to respond to stupid questions. She's perfectly anticipated the things you'd need, and made sure that they were there we LOVED this house, which was quiet and cosy, and somehow reviving. There was a definite sense of a house that was loved, which made it easy to sit inside and enjoy the quiet. We're already planning our next visit
