The cottage was clean and tidy, We had a friendly welcome from the caretaker. The cottage is close to a lovely dog walk that starts alongside the beer garden of next doors pub. The food in the pub is excellent and there is a local butcher on the green. Despite there being a pub next door the area is actually quiet. The only downside is the stairs, they are not for the faint hearted. We will book this cottage again.

The cottage was very cosy, a small master bedroom, but the super-king-sized bed was very comfortable! Slightly dated in places, but everything worked, so it didn't really matter that things looked a bit dated as it was all well kept. The only drawback is the shower - it's a handheld shower-head only, which worked, but was awkward to use. The bath was spacious and clean though.

Good area great walks lots to see around the area, very good pup next door wonderful menu and real ale, cottage had all amenities but could do with a general tidy up.

We had a great time as the cottage is well situated as a base to explore the area. Pub being next door is a benifit.

A few tweeks would make all the difference, eg clean the oven, make the bathroom door lock properly, and install a shower head fitting at normal height. However the seating and the beds were very comfortable and it was nice and warm. The modern ambience of the building was very pleasant. Being set on the village green among the trees, by a smart pub and pretty cottages but with access to Subury suited us.

Overall a very comfortable holiday. So handy for quality pub next door that served excellent food at a reasonable price. A good base to tour the area with mostly quiet roads.

We found Crown Cottage a bit disappointing. It looks charming, just like the pictures on the website, and has the basic facilities (except a shower) but is in reality somewhat past its best, some things are a bit tatty, or just old, like the ancient storage heaters (we had a very cold first evening and night). The house was grubby in a lot of areas (especially the oven and fridge). It has a nice little enclosed garden, but even this is somewhat unkempt. The house itself is in a nice peaceful location, handily mid-way between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, ideal for exploring the local area, and the village itself is very pretty. If the house was cleaner and the fixtures and fittings were renewed, it would be a lovely place.

Received a lovely, friendly welcome on arrival from Paul with good local advice on where to eat, shop etc. On the positive side beds were comfy and good quality towels. Overall the cottage was dark and looked tired. The kitchen was adequate but not as clean as I would like and cooker, microwave old. Outside was in need of a tidy up too with parking a little tight (but we do have a big car). Be good to have candles or torches that work to help if there is a power cut (as we experienced). Good pub next door and a great butchers open in the mornings on the green. Highly recommend.

The value matched the property. The location was pretty but the property itself was unkept and needs a little tlc. We found it lacked the basic necessities you would find with other lets. I.e. salt and pepper, bleach, hand soap. Did expect a garden and a car parking space was surprised to find the car space took up the garden. For these reasons we wouldn't visit again and wouldn't be recommending to anyone.
